Kansas City Chiefs suffered a horrific blow as Charles Omenihu got injured during the AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs took an overwhelming first-half lead 17-10 at the Baltimore home ground. Credit goes to Omenihu, who took the ball away from Lamar Jackson in the second quarter, giving the Chiefs a chance to secure a game-changing turnover.

Still, all didn’t end well for the DE, who injured his knee in the second quarter of the game. In a must-win knockout game, the Chiefs need their dependable defensive end more than ever and this injury gives a scare to the team.

Charles Omenihu’s playing status

Omenihu was taken to the locker room after he suffered a knee injury during the game. After much deliberation during halftime, the news came out in the third quarter regarding his injury status. At first, it looked like the DE would come back on the field, but Adam Schefter confirmed his absence for the rest of the game.

Adam Schefter posted on X, “Chiefs downgraded Charles Omenihu to out.” This means that the Chiefs’ defense has to manage it without Omenihu for the rest of the game.
