Travis Kelce is a generational talent, a player who has redefined the tight-end position. However, things weren’t as smooth for him at the 2013 NFL Combine. Taylor Swift’s beau revealed his horrible interview with the Dallas Cowboys at the Combine. One that forced them to look elsewhere.

The major cause of this bad interview can be traced back to his college days, and a failed drug test for the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2010. And the Cowboys’ red flag turned out to be a boon for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, it is this failure that made him the player that he is today!

Travis, on the latest edition of his podcast with his brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights’, revealed his awful interview with the Cowboys. Both the brothers were trading stories when Travis dropped this piece of information. “At the combine, I had some bad interviews”, said Travis.

As Kelce tested positive for marijuana, the Bearcats suspended him for an entire season. And this suspension was the thorn in the Cowboys’ plans for him. “The Cowboys, they were kinda pressing me about having this red flag of missing a year”, said Travis Kelce.

The 3X Super Bowl winner suffered a lot of indignation after being suspended. However, this suspension renewed his focus for the game. “From that point on, I realized I gotta tighten the f*** up”, said Kelce about the suspension previously. Kelce, performed awesomely in his last year at the college while also displaying the NFL caliber at the Combine.

Now, a holder of multiple records at his TE position, Kelce has turned out to be a revelation for the Chiefs. As they too interviewed him the same year and proceeded to draft him in the third round as the 63rd overall pick in the NFL Draft 2013. And the 9X Pro Bowler has never had any disciplinary issues in his pro career.
