Kirk Cousins’ father Don once opened up about the strong bond that the siblings’ share. He shared in an interview with the Holland Sentinel, “Like any parent, you want your kids to get along — not just get along, but in effect be best friends. It is not just Kyle Cousins who helps his younger brother win games. Kyle with two of his friends, Ross Verwys and Eric Huizenga, is a part of the self proclaimed “Crushing the Capital” trio. If Kyle is to be believed, Kirk Cousins has not lost a single home game in the presence of the trio.

The first unexpected victory happened when Cousins was in college with the Redskins. What’s more surprising is the fact that he was a backup for the game that initiated ‘the CTC’ trio. Robert Griffin III endured an injury with two minutes on the clock, and to the trio’s and everyone else’s surprise, Kirk Cousins took over an 8 point lead within 36 seconds thanks to a TD pass and a 2-point conversion.
