“He is one of one. I can say that confidently. There is nobody in the game, maybe in the history of the game that’s like him, at what he does and the way he does it.” In August last year, the Ravens’ $16 million two-time Pro Bowler praised quarterback Lamar Jackson for his gameplay. But today, it seems safety Kyle Hamilton is more interested in playing against his QB.

During a Thursday episode of the Dan Patrick Show, Kyle Hamilton joined the host to talk about the upcoming Ravens vs Steelers game as well as his quarterback, Lamar Jackson. During the discussion, Patrick asked Hamilton, “Do you get to tackle Lamar Jackson or Derrick Henry” in practice sessions? To which, the safety made an honest violent confession for the QB.
He said, “No, I mean I wish I could Lamar more so than Derrick.” Hamilton made it very clear that when he gets the chance to tackle, he would like to play against Lamar Jackson rather than Henry. However, that doesn’t mean he ever wants to do that in real games. This is evident in what he said after Jackson won the MVP award last year.

At that time, after a practice session, Hamilton said, “People are surprised by his arm, but it’s something that can’t be taught- where he (Lamar Jackson) puts it (the football). You got to put it in perspective as a DB. You’re covering these guys and he just puts it somewhere you can’t make a play on the ba–l. He’s just so impressive and I’m lucky I don’t have to play against him on Sundays.” Hamilton clearly expressed that he is lucky that he doesn’t have to play against him. But now it seems he has changed his words for Jackson, and the reason behind it could probably be the challenge he wants to take.
This is because Hamilton quipped, “I can’t speak from experience other than fall camp but even then when he’s going 50% Lamar it’s still tough to stop him and you see it every single game day, it’s just like I know the defense has to be frustrated being out there and you feel like you got the perfect play dialed up and you do and then you get to him and he scram out and runs for 50 yards or throws a 60-yard touchdown. It’s just, it’s got to be demoralizing.” Hence, he thinks Lamar Jackson is challenging and unpredictable on the field, and that it is tough to defend against him. Nevertheless, Kyle Hamilton is happy to play with Jackson in the league, as now they are preparing for an important battle!
