Although the game season isn’t on right now, NFL fans are still up for debating their favorite teams. Many NFL fans or analysts who count the Kansas City Chiefs as number 1 in the AFC division, and why shouldn’t they? The team, under Patrick Mahomes, has shown tremendous upscale in the rank and trophies. However, when it comes to choosing the rest of the teams from Rank 2, confusion arises.

In the latest episode of SPEAK, hosts Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy, and James Jones joined in to debate on which team ranks at the top. During the start of the segment, Acho unveiled his Top 5 AFC teams. He ranked the Chiefs as number 1, the Texans as rank 2, followed by the Bengals, the Ravens, and the Dolphins. However, the ranks given to the teams didn’t sit well with the Packers’ legend Jones.

Although he was fine with the Chiefs position, Jones believed the Ravens should come before Houston. Explaining why, Jones expressed, “I just think it’s a little disrespectful to Lamar Jackson. Main reason is Lamar wins everything.” He acknowledged that while other quarterbacks may look good on paper, Lamar has proven himself on the field, earning two MVP awards and performing well in the playoffs.

Jones added, “I think he’s an excellent quarterback. Year after year, this is a two MVP and he slapped y’all in the playoffs he did. And so for me that all that on paper could be true but maybe inside the dude, I have had respect. Lamar Jackson would have been at two. They were the second best team in the AFC last year, and would have been at two.”

Additionally, Jones mentioned that the Bengals, who were ranked second in the AFC last year, might face challenges in the upcoming season due to changes in their roster. Overall, Jones disagreed with the notion that the Texans are number two in the AFC and believes that Jackson and the Ravens deserve more recognition for their performance.

Before CJ Stroud it was easy to pick the Ravens the winner between the two. However, now, Stroud and Lamar Jackson are both weighed equally on the balance, leading their team to continuous victories and the playoffs last season. Both quarterbacks have been successful in their careers, with Jackson being a former MVP winner and Stroud being considered one of the top 10 quarterbacks, even a potential MVP candidate for 2023. They are both great players. However, when it comes to the playoffs, things change.

Jackson has struggled, performing poorly compared to his regular-season performances. Many analysts believe that his accuracy decreases, he makes more turnovers, and he becomes less efficient, as seen in his last AFC championship game against the Chiefs.

On the other hand, Stroud has continued to showcase excellent quarterback skills during playoff games, maintaining his high level of performance. However, he too, couldn’t lead his team to win the playoffs last season. Nevertheless, both the teams and quarterbacks’ fans are awaiting their victorious championship days, as they are quite of similar caliber. As a few NFL analysts have rightly said, “Lamar Jackson is the NFL’s present, and C.J. Stroud is the NFL’s future.”
