It seems like Father Time is catching up with Aaron Rodgers! Ahead of the Jets’ crucial Week 8 showdown against New England, NFL insider Ian Rapoport dropped some major news on X.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

The veteran QB’s expected to take the field despite a knee injury from last week—plus, now, a hamstring issue. Per Rapoport, Rodgers will likely suit up on Sunday. But he’ll be walking a fine line with both knee and hamstring issues that could limit his trademark mobility. “Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is also dealing with injury. He’s expected to play, that’s one thing… Rodgers is expected to go with the knee injury that he had last week when he kind of banged it. Now, he’s dealing with a hamstring injury. He’s 40 years old, something obviously to watch,” Rapoport’s tweet read.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini added more detail: the Jets’ QB is also managing an ankle injury—with practice limited to a walkthrough. Cimini tweeted, “Aaron Rodgers is listed with knee, ankle and hamstring injuries and will be limited today (only a walk through).” Per coach Jeff Ulbrich, the hamstring tweak (which reportedly surfaced during Sunday Night Football against Pittsburgh) hampered A-Rod’s ability to scramble effectively—a critical skill for his game.

This ain’t good news for New York. Having swapped out HC Robert Saleh and brought in former Raiders’ WR Davante Adams, the team’s undergoing multiple front-end changes. While the Rodgers-Adams connection could prove powerful (given their Green Bay days), A-Rod’s injuries raise serious questions.

The Super Bowl XLV champ’s 2024 season’s been one helluva ride. He’s only snagged 1,663 passing yds, 10 TDs, and seven picks in seven games—finishing with a 82.2 passer rating and 61.7% completion rate.

Yes, there’ve been ‘classic Rodgers’ moments—like his 294-yard, two-TD performance against the Buffs—but consistency? That’s been harder to come by, especially after three interceptions in a piteous loss to the Vikings.

Then there’s Brett Favre’s ghost. Matching his mentor’s Jets record’s a tall order, given A-Rod’s knees and hamstrings screaming for a break. One analyst nailed it: “Welcome to 40, Aaron!”

Aaron Rodgers vs. father time: Can he keep pace with Brett Favre’s legacy?

NFL analyst Mike Florio ain’t optimistic! In his latest analysis, Florio pointed out that Rodgers might be grappling with time as much as with the Patriots in Week 8. “Welcome to 40, Aaron” he remarked, calling Rodgers’ knee, ankle, and now hamstring issues a “sign of the times.”

The ten-time Pro Bowler now faces an uphill climb to match Favre’s Jets legacy. Favre went 9-7 in his single season with the Jets back in ’08, so for Rodgers to top that, he’ll need a 7-2 or better run over the next nine games. Sitting at 2-5, New York has a minimum three-week climb just to reach .500—a tough ask for a QB with nagging injuries.

With his mobility compromised and durability in question, Aaron Rodgers’ journey to Favre’s mark looks anything but certain. Florio’s analysis could be the reality check Jets fans need as Rodgers fights to stay on-field.
