Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s brewing love story with pop sensation Taylor Swift has taken over the internet this year. A highlight of the 2023 NFL season, fans have followed the lovebirds closely, but not everyone approves. Stephen A. Smith has been particularly objectionable, as shown by recent comments on Kelce’s preferences. In his witty avatar, Smith labeled Kelce as his brother from another mother and applauded a certain choice.

Stephen A. Smith admires Travis Kelce’s choice

A recent Stephen A. Smith YouTube video discusses the various on-goings in the sports world. But coming to Travis Kelce, he indirectly appreciates his ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole. The ESPN personality says, “I often call him [Kelce] my brother from another mother because to be quite honest, he’s one of the coolest white boys I’ve ever met in my life. I got mad love for him and his choices.” What’s interesting is how when Smith is making comments on the Chiefs player, a picture of Kayla Nicole pops up on the video.

The meaning behind his words is made clearer when Smith says, “I ain’t talking about Taylor Swift, y’all know, look at his history one more time, his decision-making is impeccable.

Smith just wants to watch football

“The instigator in all of this was you, my brother. I ain’t mad at you now. This is not a bad decision. I mean, it has seemed to be very beneficial to you. More power to you. But you did it,” Smith said on ESPN’s “First Take” in early October. The NFL has been milking the news for all it’s worth and while some enjoy it, others would rather just watch the sport.

Kansas City Chiefs games have turned into as much about football as fans spotting Swift in the stands, watching Kelce play. Their rumored romance cemented into reality when during a set, Swift changed the lyrics of her song “Karma” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”

With time they seem to be getting closer as the romance heats up. But as the fevered frenzy dies down, many like Smith hope that the focus returns to football!
