Despite sharing the baseball genes with his father Patrick Mahomes Sr. and being an NFL superstar himself for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes now and again finds himself on the serene greens of a golf course. Most recently, he announced that his partnership with Airbnb will host a special ‘Sunday Funday’ event as part of the brand’s Airbnb Originals program. Set for June 1, Mahomes’ fans can book the Airbnb from May 13 onwards to have “extraordinary experiences hosted by the world’s most interesting people.” What’s more, you’ll get to trash talk with the QB, compete in some backyard games featuring beer pong, cornhole, and end the day with a spread of Jack Stack Barbecue. One competition though, that is closer to Mahomes and his family is chipping golf balls into a pond. And he has his reasons for including it.

“First off, chipping, obviously golf is big in my life in the offseason, taking some stress off my body and getting to go out there and have fun with my friends and family.” Interestingly, this Airbnb event will not be the only affair that has Patrick showcasing his golfing skills. In fact, he hosts a charity golfing event annually that not only brings his family and friends together, including big celebrity names, but also helps raise funds for his ‘15 and the Mahomies’ foundation.

In 2024, the event was a part of the charity’s gala at the Bellagio Hotel on April 28. Of course, Mahomes’ teammate Travis Kelce and girlfriend-pop-star Taylor Swift also participated in the event. This time as well, the Mahomes family is all set to swing some golf clubs and have a special guest joining them at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Vegas.

TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that Mahomes will be throwing a charity golf bash at Shadow Creek Golf Course, aimed at raising significant funds for Mahomes’ ’15 and the Mahomies Foundation.’ According to the official website of the foundation that is strongly dedicated to changing the lives of children, focusing on health, wellness, and communities that need resources to survive, the event will be held through May 14 to May 16 in Las Vegas. All the funds gathered in this golf event will be siphoned to Mahomes’ foundation.

With the dates set, Mahomes’ father, who used to take him to the golf course while he was still young, wasn’t planning on missing the event. TMZ Sports further reported that Mahomes Sr. apparently requested his probation officer to attend the event in person. He submitted the necessary documents earlier this month and on May 7th, his request was granted.

As part of his plea agreement signed in 2024, Pat Sr. will have to submit a urine test once he returns from Vegas. But this isn’t the first time he has gone through the process to watch his son play. In order to attend Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Mahomes’ dad followed the same procedure. Just last month, Pat begged the judge for an event he desperately wanted to attend.

Patrick Mahomes’ father pleaded with the judge to serve his fans

Patrick Mahomes’ dad was a professional baseball pitcher for 11 years on the diamond. So, when he got the opportunity to retrace his baseball roots, Pat Sr. did everything in his power to return to his old habitat. On April 13th, Mahomes Sr. was slated to attend a sports memorabilia event at The Ball Park in Minnesota where his journey started playing for the Twins. Given that he proudly boasts a legendary status among the Twinkies, Pat pleaded with the judge to allow him to attend the event outside Texas.

After a lot of requests and promises made to abide by his probation guidelines, Pat was allowed to travel to Minnesota. Twinkies were able to see their former star as he signed autographs for them. He was also joined by another Twins legend, Chuck Knoblauch, at the table. Those two rolled back their time with the Twins, meeting and greeting the fans. Mahomes Sr. found some much-needed happiness as he tries to navigate through his DWI probation.
