Matt Araiza Parents: Meet Rico & Kerry Araiza Who Supported the New Chiefs Signing Through Thick and Thin

In a very short amount of time, punter Matt Araiza has been through a lot. From the Buffalo Bills to the Kansas City Chiefs. On this journey, Araiza braced a lot of heat. But two constant things in his life kept him afloat. His mother and father.

Born in 2000, to Ricardo Marzia and Kerry Marzia, Matt is their youngest child out of two. Matt’s elder brother was a punter as well in his high school. And Matt’s expedition would’ve been entirely different as well, if not for the intervention of his folks.

Matt Araiza is blessed to have a strong family bond

Matt’s father, Ricardo, was born in Mexico and immigrated to the US with his parents at a young age. At high school, Rico himself played football, at the wide receiver position. But, his first love was soccer. And he, along with his mother Kerry, wanted their son to be a soccer player as well initially.

Their son Matt enjoyed the soccer life, however, his father wanted him to join more sports as well. When he began transitioning to football, the 23-year-old’s mother was hesitant. However, his father supported him wholeheartedly.

As Matt started to flourish in football, his mother and father were at ease. However, unbeknownst to them, they had yet another part to play in their son’s life. But his parent stood tall, with an unexpected legal battle that resulted in his expulsion from the Bills roster! Finally, they don’t have to worry about Matt’s position in the NFL anymore.

In a shock move, the Chiefs bolstered their offense with the inclusion of Araiza. Known as the ‘Punt God’ during his college days at San Diego State. The 23-year-old surely has unlimited potential!

And because of that potential, the Chiefs have taken a chance on the youngster. Now, with his legal battle behind him and with the support of his family, Araiza is ready to take on the NFL defenses.
