A tweet from Tom Pelissero highlighted the reason why the LA Rams might end up losing the playoff fight against the Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford takes an untimely hit

Matthew Stafford took an excruciating hit to the ribs on the Rams’ 4 and 8 in the third quarter. Pelissero wrote in the tweet, “#Rams QB Matthew Stafford is in the medical tent after taking a hard hit to the rib area. L.A.’s backup is … Carson Wentz.”. Before leaving the field, Stafford had made 18 of 25 passes over 266 yards and had two touchdowns to his name.

Another video from JPAFootball showed exactly what went down on the field. Stafford was quickly trying to get rid of the ball when the Detroit DE Aidan Hutchinson unfortunately pounced on him, hitting him hard. Stafford went down and with that, a Lions player stepped on his shoulder blade. He was later seen jogging out of the field with his right hand all crunched up.

We could see him on the sideline as he got assistance from his trainers. However, Stafford was quick to return to the game despite the pain due to the crucial stage the game is stuck at right now. Before this, he cut his hand on a defender’s helmet and was playing with his fingers taped. But the QB looks to be ready to give it his all for the same, with the scores currently at only a difference of one point.
