Imagine scrolling through your social media feed and finding people debating over weird stuff. Like, who would win in a fight, a Silverback gorilla or 100 men? Or who unfollowed whom on socials. Sounds familiar? That’s the reality of Kelly Stafford’s life, wife of Rams QB Matthew Stafford. On her podcast The Morning After, with Hank Winchester, Kelly and Hank discuss literally everything under the sun (including sports, of course). They share real-life stories, marriage struggles, how to deal with tricky situations regarding the kids, spring break preparation, the whole nine yards. So when the latest episode of The Morning After dropped, people naturally took notice to see what was new with these two dynamic speakers.

In the latest episode of The Morning After, titled ‘100 Gorillas’, Kelly Stafford and Hank Winchester’s conversations took a diverse range yet again. From shopping checkout disasters, to 100 unarmed men fighting a gorilla (hence the episode title), to people’s bladder control, and all the way to Kelly’s fascination with killer whales. They also talked about their experience on flights. Particularly, the things men do on flights that piss off Kelly to no end.

Kelly Stafford started by asking Hank, “When you are sitting in the middle seat, do you think you should get both armrests?” Hank says no and explains his stance, and Kelly shares her own experience: “I know I’m small. So if I’m in the middle seat, I’m not going to take both armrests because I know I’m small and I can deal without it.” But when it comes to the men, Kelly explains they usually end up taking both the armrests when they’re in the middle seat. “So they sit down and they immediately take both armrest and that pisses me off. Yeah. Like maybe give it, I don’t know, 30 minutes – but when they sit down they’re like” and she makes a gesture of a person spreading their arms out on both sides, “and they I want to just nudge them off be like yo it’s my armrest.”

Now, all of us have faced this issue at some point, and Kelly’s words ring out as a massive relate. There has to be some etiquette when it comes to the unspoken things people should follow on flights. Kelly also shared another experience and called out the smelly people, “If you smell, shower before getting on a plane so the people next to you don’t have to smell you for 4 hours or wear some perfume or deodorant.” Another massively relatable drop by Kelly Stafford. And while she singled out men for these kinds of antics, she also cleared up her stance on feminism.

Kelly Stafford’s take on feminism

In the same episode of The Morning After, Kelly Stafford opened up about her take on how men would destroy everything without the presence of women. “Okay. I love men. I really do. And I do think that there are some very very brilliant ones. They invent a lot of things that we use today. But if there were no women, they would destroy whatever they invented the next f—— day.” It was then that she brought up the 100 men vs. Gorilla debate that’s making its rounds on the internet. She further added, “Women aren’t even thinking about this, discussing it. They’re looking at this going, ‘What f—— dumbass guy thought of this?'” Well, if one has to really think about it, the idea itself is strange, if not dangerous.

Kelly also explained that she’s not a “hardcore feminist” and “I love a man to take care of me – that’s kind of the way it is.” But she also addressed the antics and said, “but gosh, would y’all be lost without us cause y’all would try to fight a damn silverback gorilla.” At one point in the podcast, Kelly had a realization that she was talking about men constantly and hilariously added, “I’m just s——- on the men today.” Kelly Stafford’s candid takes on real life have always endeared her to the viewers, and her latest stream of thought only adds to her appeal. And her message is clear: it’s cool to invent things, but maybe don’t try to win against a gorilla?
