After spending 5 seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, their Running Back Josh Jacobs has decided to hang up the Raiders jersey and move on. He has reportedly signed with the Green Bay Packers. It’s surprising to see the Raiders let go of one of the most talented running backs in the league. But his Vegas teammates couldn’t be happier that Jacobs is moving on to new opportunities.
Maxx Crosby who seems to have a special bond with the RB, recently shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram stories. This goes to say that their jerseys have changed, but the comradery between the two would still be the same in the future. Simultaneously, time will tell if the Packers will be able to find a new groove with Jordan Love and Jacobs playing alongside.

Maxx Crosby has a special message for Josh Jacobs
The Vegas DE showed some love to the RB Josh Jacobs upon learning that he will not be a Raider anymore. His recent Instagram Story shows both players in the Raiders uniform hugging it out. Crosby wrote in the story, “Real Life Soldier… Love You For Life Brother. Nothings Changed But The Jersey. We Came In Together With Similar Goals In Mind & Now Look Where We’re At. Green Bay Got A Great One. @iAM_JoshJacobs”

It was Ian Rapoport who first broke the news that the Packers were interested in signing Josh Jacobs. A Bleacher Report article also mentioned that per Jordan Schultz, Josh Jacobs has found a 4-year $48 million deal with the Green Bay Packers. Before this deal, the Raiders tried to give him a franchise tag, though he held out on that and missed a couple of practice sessions.
He later agreed to a one-year $11.8 million deal in August 2023. There are a lot of free-agent RBs in the league currently, but the Packers signed Jacobs and the reason behind it sounds solid.
Amidst various options, the Packers chose Jacobs
Many talented RBs like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Tony Pollard, and Austin Ekeler recently joined the free agency. Some of them even got signed in a jiffy. But the difference between these players and Jacobs is the fact that he is younger and currently more athletic than them. Perhaps therefore the Packers didn’t think about spending money elsewhere.

Jacobs accounted for 805 yards over 233 carries and 6 touchdowns in the last season. This came after he played 13 games with the Raiders last year. But the Raiders had a QB problem since the start as well. Perhaps that’s why Jacobs’ ratings also took a hit.
