The Las Vegas Raiders might bring the heat on the gridiron, but off it? Well, off the gridiron, they have been quietly doing serious social work. Since 2018, the Raiders have been giving back to Nevada, especially the youth and underrepresented communities across the state. From education to wellness programs, they’ve been showing up where it matters. In 2024, the Raiders leveled up their social game by advocating for mental health through their ‘Silver & Black Gala’ charitable event. This year, too, the gala returned over the weekend, with more star power like Maxx Crosby and Pete Carroll showing up for the cause.
On Sunday, Raiders Head Sommelier Sandra Taylor shared some snaps from the star-studded charity event. Her photos featured the team’s new head coach, Pete Carroll, Maxx Crosby, and several other Raiders players and members. Coach Carroll looked sharp in a black tuxedo as he posed for a selfie with Sandra. Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby rocked a grey suit paired with white Nike kicks. The DE accessorized his fit perfectly with gold chains, giving off effortless cool vibes. “Last night’s Silver & Black Gala really hit home,” Taylor captioned her post. “The Raiders organization is all about uplifting the community, focusing on meaningful impact with our military members and veterans, health and wellness initiatives, and youth development efforts right here in Nevada.“
Calling the team her second family, she added, “Got to catch up with our new coach Pete Carroll and meet some new players. An incredible gala with dinner on the field at Allegiant Stadium. It’s always wonderful to reconnect with my second family here in Las Vegas.“

The first Silver & Black Gala took place last year at Wynn Las Vegas. It was launched as part of the Raiders Foundation. The purpose of the gala is to uplift the Las Vegas community through support for military members, veterans, youth development, and more. The gala also specifically targets mental health awareness, raising funds to support victims of trauma and violent crime.
Inside the Raiders’ star-studded night of glam and giving
This year at the Silver & Black Gala, Pete Carroll’s tux wasn’t the only thing turning heads. One of the biggest highlights of the night was a performance by music legend Stevie Wonder. Columnist John Katsilometes took to X to give flowers to the iconic musician. Posting a clip of Stevie Wonder’s set from the event, John wrote, “This is righteous.“

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis also paid a heartfelt tribute to Elaine Wynn, recognizing her contributions to the Las Vegas community and her unwavering support for the Raiders’ outreach efforts. Besides Stevie Wonder, legendary guitarist Don Felder also took the stage at the star-studded event. He later shared a few pictures from the gala on Instagram, captioning it, “What. A. Night. ✨ Honored to join the @raidersfoundation for an unforgettable evening at the Silver & Black Gala supporting mental health initiatives across Nevada. Every dollar raised will directly support life-changing mental health programs and resources. Nevada is ranked last in the country for YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT.“
The gala wasn’t just about big performances; it also brought together several Raiders alumni, current players, and team staff. Head coach Pete Carroll was spotted having relaxed and fun conversations with attendees, including radio host YourboyQ. All in all, from heartfelt tributes and legendary performances to glam-filled reunions and off-the-cuff sideline chats, the 2025 Silver & Black Gala was more than just a success. And at its heart, it was a night dedicated to impactful social work.
