Miami Dolphins’ injured wide receiver Tyreek Hill just made a big career announcement, one that is way beyond the field. The player will likely miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season because of a dislocated knee and multiple torn ligaments. But instead of letting it bring him down, Hill is ready to shine in a new field and let his creative energy flow.

For a player known as the ‘Cheetah,’ standing still was never an option. With his season sidelined by injury, Tyreek Hill is channeling his energy from the gridiron to the DJ booth.

“Coming to play house music near you 😊” Hill announced, sounding all excited.

On Thursday, Tyreek confirmed that he’s now a DJ by re-sharing talk show host Andy Slater’s tweet that hinted at it. In his tweet, Slater claimed that Tyreek mentioned his new venture to musician Luther Campbell earlier this week.

Tyreek Hill is not the only one who has pivoted to music for now. New England Patriots CB Marcus Jones also brings out his musical side during the off-season. As mentioned on his stage name Elliott J’s IG profile bio, he is more than THE NFL ATHLETE. He is also an artist, producer, writer, and engineer.

While Hill may have always loved mixing songs, this sudden change of plans is likely because of his season-ending injury. It happened during Miami’s Week 4 game against the New York Jets. After catching the ball, the Jets tackled Tyreek near the sideline and tried to pull him down. While defending himself, the fifth-round pick ended up twisting his knee.

He reportedly tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, and opted for surgery. The big health setback made everyone wonder: Will he return to play for the Dolphins as his contract expires next year? On Terron Armstead’s podcast, Tyreek Hill opened up about his retirement plans.

“At the end of the day, I feel like that decision is based upon how I feel and where my mindset is at the moment…I love playing football, but it takes a lot out of you, mentally and physically. I’ll make that decision after talking with my family.” Tyreek added while adressing his injury

While it’s unfortunate that fans won’t see Tyreek Hill on the field again this season, fans have another reason to be concerned. So far, Miami has secured just two wins and currently sits third in the AFC East.

Hill’s absence is more than just the loss of a star receiver; it puts immense pressure on a Dolphins offense that was already struggling, particularly along a beleaguered offensive line that now has even less margin for error.

Offensive line woes continue to haunt Miami

The Dolphins hoped their offensive unit would be a strength this season, but it has continued to be an issue for the team. It’s something that troubled general manager Chris Grier during his time with the team. As the season progressed, it was clear that Grier couldn’t build a decent offensive line before he left.

In their offseason, the Dolphins brought back Austin Jackson, signed James Daniels in free agency, and prepared last year’s second-round pick, Patrick Paul, to replace veteran Terron Armstead. The plan looked promising, but the reality was far from expectations.

Besides offensive tackle Patrick, health setbacks held others back. Linemen Daniels, Liam Eichenberg, and Jackson remained on the injured reserve for most of the season. Guard Aaron Brewer also played a key role in turning around the unit’s luck, but Miami needs a team effort.

In week 10, their O-line struggles could pose a challenge in the team’s next clash with the Bills at Hard Rock Stadium. Buffalo is on a mission to take over the division-leading Patriots, and Miami’s weakened line could make things easier for them. With three starters still on questionable status, the Dolphins must work on their offense to wrap up the season.
