Jalen Hurts is the only Super Bowl-winning quarterback in NFL history who makes $50 million a year. In total, he has a solid football career record of 49-27-1. That alone should speak volumes about his talent and why he absolutely belongs in the top five QB conversation. But somehow, despite the championship ring and the numbers, he keeps getting dragged. For instance, take NFL analyst Greg Cosell, who didn’t hold back this year, saying, “I’ve watched every snap of Jalen Hurts since he’s been in the NFL and for his last two years in college…He’s not a pure anticipation quarterback.”
And that’s not just Cosell, it’s a sentiment echoed by many fans and analysts. They say he folds under pressure. Others argue it’s the surrounding team that makes him shine. Either way, the disrespect keeps coming. Even after winning it all, Hurts still isn’t seen as elite by most. Now, Micah Parsons‘ brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., just added his name to the list of critics.
On Friday, Parsons’ brother on X dropped his statement regarding why he thinks Jalen Hurts is not as good as Lamar Jackson. This happened when Eagles fan and content creator, Lord Brunson, said, “Jalen Hurts is better than Lamar Jackson.” Sharing this statement on his official X account, Terrence tried to show a mirror to the fan by arguing, “Bro this s— is insane (laughing emojis) there’s just no way…Give Lamar Jalen’s team, he’s breaking records passing and running, let’s be real.”

No doubt, Lamar Jackson is a great player, having a 70-24 record as a starter in his career. But some points tell Jalen Hurts has quietly pulled ahead. Through their first five years in the league, he’s got 46 wins, one more than the Ravens QB. He also throws for more yards per game (190.5 to 174.4) and has racked up more total touchdowns (140 to 125). Both have two Pro Bowls under their belt. But here’s where Hurts separates himself—he’s already been to two Super Bowls, winning one. On the other hand, Jackson hasn’t touched that stage yet. So, that says a lot.
But anyway, Micah Parsons’ brother still feels that Hurts cannot surpass Jackson, and who knows, perhaps he might be right. After all, the NFL doesn’t come with a future result, despite any record or stat. In addition, everyone has their favorites, so yeah, we can understand the arguments. However, the insults to the Eagles‘ QB, despite a Super Bowl win, are somewhat not that justifiable.
Jalen Hurts ranked No. 2?
Jalen Hurts’ family, his coach, his teammates, and his fans are all proud of the Eagles QB. And why shouldn’t they? After all, the man worked hard enough to lead his team to clinch a Super Bowl after 7 years. But still, when it came to discussing the quarterbacks before the 2025 season, Hurts was pushed back by the NFL media to the second rank. So, who is in the first rank?

According to writer Cody Benjamin on CBS Sports, somehow, Jayden Daniels, who just wrapped up a wild rookie year and hasn’t even reached the big stage yet, got the No. 1 spot. Why? Well, as per the reporter, “Recency bias? Sure. But you’d be hard-pressed to find an NFL team that wouldn’t hurry to claim him as its quarterback of the present and future, contenders included. He was simply unflappable for much of his dynamic debut, which ended on the doorstep of the Super Bowl.” Benjamin also made sure to highlight that a dip might be possible, but given some veteran help in the team, he is likely to rise.

But right behind him is Jalen Hurts. Yes, the guy who’s already led his team to two Super Bowls, winning one. Despite this, he was given rank 2, ahead of Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes. People say he’s not flashy enough or doesn’t sling it non-stop. But he’s calm, clutch, and built to win. Still, he was put in second. If that’s not a little disrespectful, what is?
