The Miami Dolphins can’t afford to kick off the 2025 season without addressing some serious roster concerns. Honestly, these should’ve been handled by now. But it’s been a relatively quiet offseason in South Beach. After a rocky 2024 campaign, Tua Tagovailoa’s injuries, struggles on both sides of the ball, fans were hoping for a more aggressive approach this time around. Instead, things have felt a bit… stalled. And to make matters worse, there’s also an uncertainty around star CB Jalen Ramsey, who has requested a trade. But at least Mike McDaniel and his team will get to play on the international gridiron in Madrid. What’s that scoop? Well, let’s save it for later.

Mike McDaniel and the Dolphins are in quite a tough spot regarding their CB position. With Jalen Ramsey making it clear that he doesn’t want to stick around, the team is now scrambling to find his replacement as quickly as possible. While they’ve added Florida Gators’ Jason Marshall Jr., that alone won’t be enough. To tackle this need head-on, McDaniel and the Dolphins brass brought in Rasul Douglas for a visit to their headquarters. The reports say that the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement, leaving the Dolphins with mixed emotions.

Per source, Rasul Douglas quietly visited Dolphins headquarters last week. Miami made an offer, but the sides did not come to terms. He’s visiting Seattle today; to be determined if he signs there. Miami’s inquiry into veteran corners continues,” reported Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Originally drafted in 2017 by the Eagles, Rasul Douglas won Super Bowl LII with the team. In 2020, Philly waived the CB during final roster cuts, and since then, Douglas has had stints with six different teams.

Over his eight-year career, Rasul Douglas has started in 80 games and built an impressive resume. The 30-year-old has made 441 total tackles, recorded interceptions, and proven to be a solid outside CB. With that kind of experience under his belt, Douglas could’ve brought some much-needed stability to Miami’s secondary. But they might have to look somewhere else now.

Anyway, as we mentioned about Miami’s international game, here’s a bit about that.

Every year, the NFL sends a few teams overseas to play select matchups. This year too, several teams will be flying to Brazil, Spain, London, Ireland, and Germany to play on the international gridiron. Mike McDaniel will get a chance to take the show to Madrid, Spain, where his team will face last season’s underdogs, the Commanders.

Can the Dolphins overcome their roster woes, or are they doomed for another disappointing season?

Besides the Dolphins and Commanders, the Chiefs, Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Colts, and Steelers will also be flying across borders to play an international game. The league is yet to drop the full schedule, but the Chiefs’ matchup with the Broncos on Christmas Day and the Eagles and Cowboys opener have stirred excitement among the fans.

Mike McDaniel’s team has the 9th-easiest schedule this season. They are facing more teams with weaker records, but all this won’t matter if they don’t get their roster together. Besides the CB crisis, the team will also be heavily dependent on how QB Tua performs. Coming off injuries, McDaniel and the Dolphins are hoping that Tagovailoa remains healthy.

So, do you think that HC Mike and the Dolphins squad will successfully take advantage of their easy schedule this season? Share your thoughts!
