Patrick Mahomes‘s mom Randi knows how to celebrate a win. It was a moment of pure pride for the proud mom. And after the Chiefs’ narrow 19-17 victory over the Raiders, she joined in with her own flair.

Randi shared a picture on her Instagram story that featured her channeling Patrick’s signature pose. It was a playful tribute to her son, who has become known for his hype-filled entrance and post-win celebrations. Randy topped it off with a lively caption, “Who did it best?” It read.

Amid a playoff-securing game, Randi’s tribute wasn’t just a fun moment. It showed her pride in Patrick and the team. From single motherhood to being a supportive mom to an NFL superstar, Randi’s journey is a testament to resilience. One would say, the recreated pose was her way of saying, “We did it together.” On the other hand, the game was filled with drama.

With just 15 seconds left, the Raiders had a chance to steal the game from Kansas City. They were in field goal range, but a tricky decision coupled with a botched snap doomed them. The ball bounced off QB Aidan O’Connell and into the hands of Chiefs LB Nick Bolton. “Obviously a big stop in a big moment that got us the win,” Mahomes said after the final play.

The victory secured Kansas City’s (11-1) 10th consecutive playoff berth. Quite remarkable, don’t you think? It’s the second-longest streak in NFL history after all. While the Chiefs didn’t dominate, they held on to extend their record of 14 straight one-possession victories. “It’s awesome that we’re finding ways to get wins… But our goal is to get to the Super Bowl.” Mahomes said, pointing at their ultimate goal. But wasn’t this a slippery one as well?

Another Close Call for the Chiefs and Patrick

Another close game, another win. But the Chiefs hadn’t built a good habit. The Raiders continued to fight until the very end. QB O’Connell threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns including a 58-yard strike to Tre Tucker in the fourth quarter. But despite a late surge from Las Vegas, the Chiefs’ defense held strong. Securing a win in the most improbable of ways.

With just under two minutes left, the Raiders had taken over at their own 8-yard line and rookie O’Connell moved to the Chiefs’ 32-yard line. The Raiders were marching towards a potential win to end their dry run. But a botched snap ended their hopes as Las Vegas coach Pierce‘s decision to not go for a FG continues to be debated.

Though Kansas City’s defense stepped up when it mattered most, with Chris Jones delivering 2 key sacks during the game. “Obviously a big stop in a big moment,” Mahomes emphasized the importance of the defense’s timely plays. Kicker Matt Wright was also crucial, making 4 field goals to help give the Chiefs the lead. Even though the team wasn’t at their best, Wright’s consistency and the defense’s clutch moments made the difference.

Chiefdom certainly hopes their team will play more dominantly in the upcoming games. While mom Randi is always backing QB Mahomes, the Chiefs definitely need to step up their game.
