Randi Mahomes once called it her sanctuary—the Tyler, Texas home where she raised a boy who would go on to win three Super Bowl rings (at least). It was the place where backyard throws turned into big-league dreams. But this spring, Randi made what she called a “bittersweet” decision—to part ways with that cherished property after Patrick Mahomes surprised his mom with a newly constructed $825,000 home in Texas, teaming up with his wife, Brittany, and brother, Jackson. The emotions were real. The memories, priceless. But three weeks later, the decision seems to be stuck in neutral—and the for-sale sign is still up.

There were a lot of tears and laughter and memories in that house. But it’s time to let a new family start to build their dream there now. Being a Mom and Grandi is the greatest joy of my life, and I’m so thankful for the love that surrounds me every day,” Randi Mahomes described earlier. But with the new gift of a brand-new house in the heart of Texas, Randi chose to sell her son’s childhood home for $285,000. Now, around 3 weeks after she put her old house on sale, it seems that decision falls short. But why?

Randi Mahomes, who gave a tour of his childhood home in Texas after the  QB clinched his 3rd SB ring in 2024, has been continuously updating fans about the sale prospects of her house. Taking to her official X handle, she shared the picture of her Tyler, Texas home. And, her post caption disclosed the ‘bitter’ truth of her decision. “Looking for a home in East Texas!” the caption reads.

The listing describes the home location “3110 Oleander Dr., Tyler, TX 75707.”  It indeed hinted that Mahomes’ mom did not find any buyer even after many weeks. But what is even more surprising: the lack of active house bidding. According to the real estate website, the listing is still up for bids, indicating at the very least that nothing in the acceptable range has come around yet.

Well, the house where the NFL MVP QB once tossed his first football and saw championship-winning dreams still awaits a new buyer. The listing agent, Tristan Mosher, even schedules private showings for those looking to settle into Patrick’s childhood house. Despite its modern upgrades, Patrick Mahomes’s former 1,475-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is still on the market. With a beautifully updated kitchen featuring new countertops, backsplash, KitchenAid appliances, and lighting, the property is yet to be sold. And, it is prompting Mama Mahomes to step in and help boost interest in the listing.

This was not the first time that Randi’s effort to help locate a buyer was hyped. Previously, she uploaded a post advertising for her former Texas property through her Instagram story. “Bittersweet but new beginnings, thank you @tristansellstexas,” she explained. Although it could be difficult for Randi to leave Tyler, where she raised little Mahomes, the reality is: the Mahomes family has an abundance of real estate property.

Surprisingly, the active bidding for selling his childhood home in Texas came after Chiefs star QB delighted the fans with a major announcement.

Since launching in 2010, Big Slick KC has raised over $24 million for pediatric cancer programs, through auctions, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and more. This annual charitable event promotes Children’s Mercy Hospital’s Cancer Center. Now, with two of the NFL’s most recognizable stars lending their platform, that number is expected to climb again.

While Randi continues her real estate chapter, her son is pushing forward with philanthropy—proving that the Mahomes family legacy isn’t just about trophies, but also about giving back. And when Mahomes and Kelce take the stage later this month, they won’t just be rallying fans—they’ll be changing lives.
