Patrick Mahomes took all the blame on himself after Jalen Hurts Eagles dominated them in a 40-22 game. At one point the score was 34-0, before Xavier Worthy made a touchdown. Some fans thought the Chiefs would end up on an infamous list of blowouts, but that didn’t happen. But man, the NFL missed witnessing its first three-peat yet again. Patrick Mahomes had visualized that the Chiefs would do the unprecedented, but it couldn’t happen. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes’s mom has supported her son and his team while sending a strong message. In fact, Randi Mahomes’ words would inspire heartbroken Chiefs fans to keep the faith no matter what. Randi Mahomes posted on IG, “Not the ending we wanted, but so incredibly proud of Patrick and this team. No matter what, I will be your biggest cheerleader son.” And also added, “Thank you Chiefs Kingdom for the love and support, and (for) riding with us every step of the way.” But before her message, Patrick Mahomes said something that would hurt every Chiefs fan.

Patrick Mahomes said, “It’s hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl. I have to learn from that and try to be better the next opportunity that I hopefully get. I didn’t play to my standard and I have to be better next time.” And added, “There’s no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it’s the worst thing in the world… it will stick with you the rest of your career.” Patrick Mahomes has been the most successful quarterback of the generation. He has become the first under-30 quarterback in NFL history to start five Super Bowls. Isn’t that crazy for a 29-year-old?

The Eagles were flying so high from the start that Patrick Mahomes and Co. couldn’t catch them. The Eagles dominated every rushing attempt, every interception and reception. While admitting the same, Mahomes said, “We didn’t start how we wanted to. The turnovers hurt… I take all the blame for that. Those turnovers swung the moment of the game and they capitalized on them.” He also added, “They scored on one and got a touchdown immediately after another. That’s 14 points I gave them.” No wishes or prayers worked for the Chiefs.
