This year the Chiefs have hit another milestone. They secured their eighth consecutive AFC West championship, a stark contrast to their first 56 seasons without back-to-back titles. Their latest victory against the Bengals places them second in NFL history for consecutive division titles. They are trailing right after the New England Patriots’ 11-year AFC East streak.

Patrick Mahomes acknowledged the distinct challenge of this season. The Chiefs weren’t consistently scoring high as usual, but have still managed to get the title. Moreover, the 28-year QB admitted to having a different vibe to this year’s division title. However, the real challenge now lies ahead as they will vie for the Super Bowl title.

The quarterback said, “We had to battle through adversity and find a way to win this game, but it’s not over. We have to continue to get better and better.” As Mahomes and the squad understand how “special” the Week 17 game has been, they will hope to capitalize on this momentum.
