The 11-4 Philadelphia Eagles, were vying for a #1 seed in the NFC but all they got was a devastating final day of 2023. They were hoping to start a two-game winning streak on New Year’s Eve after defeating the New York Giants to end their three-game losing streak. Fans of the team believed Philly would win easily because they were playing the third-worst team in the league. To the dismay of Philadelphia fans, though, their team fell short against the 12-3 Arizona Cardinals who defeated the Eagles 31–35.

When media reporters hounded Center Jason Kelce for his reaction to the loss, they did not get what they were looking for. It was natural that after such a humiliating loss to a low-raking team, the team was disappointed in themselves and morale would be low in the locker room.
