“I would say his humility for sure… he’s not this rah-rah guy.” Just a couple of days ago, Tetairoa McMillan perfectly summed up Bryce Young in those simple words—and he meant every bit of it. Down the stretch, Carolin͏a Panthers quarterback Bryce Young didn’t just play well—he lit up the field like a fantasy football sensation. Now, flash forward to 2025. Despite his proven talent, he’s flying under the radar, currently ranked as QB21. Comparisons are heating up between him and some of the league’s top stars, including a certain Cowboys standout.

Back in January, a rumor was making the rounds that the Panthers were interested in signing Cooper Rush and Da͏k Prescott. The idea was intriguing—bringing them on board could have significantly strengthened the team, especially with Bryce Young already in place. Adding Dak to the mix had the potential to make him a pivotal asset for Bryce. But the Panthers didn’t pursue it.

Over the weekend, the Everything NFL official page stirred up some debate by posting a question on their Instagram story: “Which QB is better?” The options were Dak Prescott or Bryce Young. The responses were surprising—60% of the audience backed the 26-year-old Bryce. It’s not hard to see why: Prescott is currently ranked as QB22, just below Bryce Young’s QB21 spot. Even though Dak is older, his experience and connection with top receiver CeeDee Lamb still make him an appealing choice.

Bryce Young, meanwhile, completely justified his QB21 ranking. Sure, he had three top-eight finishes in the final six weeks of the season, but some of those performances seem difficult to repeat. In the 2024 season’s Week 13, it took him 46 passing attempts to finish as QB8. Then, in Week 16, he hit a season-high 68 rushing yards to land at QB2—a fluke, considering his next-highest total was only 30 rushing yards.

The fair comparison between Prescott and Young has sparked these discussions among fans. Dak’s reliability as a starter and the weapons surrounding him in the Co͏wboys make a strong case.

While Bryce Young showed flashes of promise late in the season, much of his success came from improvisation rather than deliberately designed plays. He scrambled more than usual during those weeks, which helped pad his points. Looking ahead to 2025, he’s expected to incorporate a bit more of that into his game—but that’s still a wait-and-see situation.

But as we compare Bryce Young and Dak Prescott, there’s a big update on Dak Prescott’s injury situation.

Prescott’s back in action: From sidelines to spotlight

The 2024 season didn’t go the way anyone in the Cowboys had hoped. For the first time since 2020, Dallas missed out on the playoffs, and the team struggled to find consistency on both sides of the ball. CeeDee Lamb’s production dipped significantly. And a shoulder injury sidelined him for a chunk of the season. Meanwhile, Micah Parsons also faced his share of setbacks. He missed several games due to injury.

Dak Prescott’s season turned out to be a rough one—particularly disappointing after he inked a record-breaking deal mere hours before Week 1 kicked off. From the start, Prescott struggled. He put up some of his career worst numbers. And then he faced the worst. A hamstring injury against the Falcons. That incident forced him out for the final nine games of the season, leaving the offense in shambles.

Now, though, there’s finally a glimmer of hope. Prescott took part in OTAs this week, looking sharp and healthy again. With him back under center, Dallas fans have reason to believe their team could return to postseason form. Especially with an offense that’s been refreshed and upgraded during the offseason.

For Dak himself, the stakes couldn’t be higher. In 2024, his new contract has arrived, and as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback, there’s immense pressure on him to deliver. “I feel great,” Prescott said confidently. “That I can do nearly everything everyone else is doing at this time of the offseason. Just not cleared for contact—got a while for that anyway. Yeah, feeling great.” Luckily, contact won’t factor into the equation for a couple more months.

Even once training camp heats up, Prescott will be donning the signature red “hands-off” jersey to keep him safe. Whether he takes snaps during any preseason games—and history suggests he probably won’t—his workload will probably remain limited. Coaches will undoubtedly call plays designed to protect him from unnecessary risks.

For Cowboys fans and the organization alike, seeing Dak healthy and back in action is huge. His leadership and presence on the field are critical if Dallas is to reclaim their swagger and mount a serious comeback this season.
