NFL Injury Update: Tee Higgins’s Left Hamstring Blow Adds to Bengals’ Misery Against the Chiefs

Unfortunate circumstances arise for the Cincinnati Bengals as Tee Higgins contracts an early injury against the Kansas City Chiefs. The game has just started, and the Bengals are now leading against the Chiefs. This is a must-win game for the 8-7 Bengals if they want to keep their playoff dreams alive. And for the Chiefs, their reputation as a Super Bowl contender is on the line.

Both teams are coming off losses, and both teams must win this game. However, with Tee Higgins out of the pictures so early on, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs might just be able to beat the Bengals.

Tee Higgins leaves the Bengals struggling

Tee Higgins has taken an early hit against the Kansas City Chiefs and is unlikely to return. He had one catch for 19 yards before he left the field under duress. The Bengals have taken an early lead of 17-13. This might leave Ja’Marr Chase in a bit of a crunch. For now, Tyler Boyd, Andrei Iosivas, Trenton Irwin, and Charlie Jones might be considered as his replacements.

CBS’ Jim Nantz announced, “He just cannot stay healthy for any length of time.” This is not the first time Tee Higgins is on an injury crunch. He has missed a couple of games this season due to his rib injury, which happened a couple of months ago in a game against the Tennessee Titans. This is his 12 game for the season and just when the Bengals need him the most, the receiver ran out of luck.

However, this setback has not stopped the Bengals from showing the Chiefs what they are made of.

One would think that Tee Higgins getting ousted from the game would put the Bengals in a slump. While the future is undecided, Jake Browning is doing an amazing job in the present. The Bengals have secured an early lead. That came after Jake Browning threw a 7-yard pass to Joe Mixon in the second quarter.

Just after a couple of minutes, Jake Browning infiltrates the enemy lines with a 1-yard TD of his own. For now, the Bengals are dominating the Chiefs in terms of passing yards. Also, Travis Kelce dropped a pass from Patrick Mahomes, putting the Chiefs in jeopardy. And then, MVS dropped another pass, locking away any opportunity that the Chiefs had to make progress down the field.
