A.J. Brown has become the subject of ‘trade target’ rumors. Before that, it’s important to rewind the picture. In the first round of the NFL draft in 2022, the Tennessee Titans let go of their wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. in a blockbuster trade. The aftermath of this trade was captured in live shots from the Tennessee draft room, revealing a visibly dismayed head coach Mike Vrabel. The footage depicted Vrabel abruptly leaving his chair, shaking his head in apparent disbelief.

This was the time when A.J. Brown was one of the biggest assets to enter the Eagles team. However, things have changed drastically now. Brown is rumored to be an option for another trade. Moreover, it’s all coming after the drama that ensued for some time between Brown and the Eagles during the Wild card rounds, and also the locker room incident.

Amidst a challenging season for the Philadelphia Eagles, internal issues have surfaced, prompting significant changes within the team. Defensive coordinator Sean Desai was replaced by Matt Patricia as the defensive play-caller in response to ongoing struggles. Quarterback Jalen Hurts openly criticized the team’s “commitment” following a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Additionally, despite a subpar defensive performance against the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Darius Slay asserted his solid play.

This further contributed to a growing narrative of tension and discord among Eagles players. Now another update adds fuel to the looming tension between the players. As per the X account NFL Rumors, they’ve talked about how A.J. Brown could supposedly be seen as the possible trade target all around the league. However, it seems highly unlikely because the Eagles wouldn’t be open to getting the hit of the $42 million dead cap by trading Brown.

So, it’s to be seen how Brown and the Eagles will work amongst each other to make things work out. But it’s to be noted that a lot of things have changed in the past month.

Is A.J. Brown’s ‘January Move’ a hint toward a change?

Earlier in January, A.J. Brown decided to wipe all content associated with his current team from his Instagram page, right before the wild card game. Brown also deactivated his X account (formerly Twitter). These actions fueled speculation about his dissatisfaction with the situation occurring in Philly. While deleting content could mean nothing, fans and analysts naturally speculated that he may not be happy with how things are turning up in Philly.

This wasn’t the first time Brown did something like this. During contract disputes with the Tennessee Titans, he removed “Tennessee” from his X bio, leading to a subsequent trade to the Eagles. The 26-year-old wide receiver, recovering from a knee injury sustained in Week 18, was absent from the locker room on Friday, although it may not hold significance given his non-participation in practice.

Brown’s intermittent media silence towards the end of the season had previously sparked rumors of locker room issues, and after a Christmas Day victory over the New York Giants, he explained his media avoidance. He said, “I was taught if I had nothing good to say to not say anything. I’ll take the fine if I have to.

And now the rumors suggest that Brown would be leaving the team altogether, which doesn’t seem a profitable move for the Eagles as of now. There has been no official statement yet from either the team or the man himself on the rumors surrounding a ‘Walk Out’.
