John Mara’s team needs a quarterback. But they have the third pick, while the Tennessee Titans and the Browns hold the first two. Brian Daboll‘s QB worries began mid-season after the team released Daniel Jones. It didn’t take long for them to realize that Tommy DeVito wouldn’t do it, and Drew Lock wouldn’t, either.

Their primary offseason goal is to find a quarterback who can turn the team’s fortunes around. The dilemma for Daboll is whether to go with a veteran or choose a young QB fresh out of college and shape him like Josh Allen

But what if they do both -bring in an experienced veteran and a young QB with budding potential? That would be following the Falcons‘ playbook like they did with Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr. And what if they fail like the Falcons? The Kirk and Penix situation didn’t go too well, with the team wanting to continue with Penix while Kirk’s contract got in the way. Well, that’s quite a tricky situation for the Giants’ front office.

But the talk of the town is how they might follow the Falcons’ playbook. Brian Daboll looks to bring on board a veteran and draft a young QB. Switching our focus to the veteran options. Now that Matthew Stafford is no longer available, the Giants are looking ahead to sign either Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers.

Now that’s a move beyond epic proportions. They look to come up with a formula to solve the quarterback crisis. And it could work!

Russ has made his intentions clear about wanting to stay with the Steelers. But the real question is, do the Steelers want him to stay? It looks like Wilson‘s golden days are gone. According to several reports, Pittsburgh looks like it is handing the QB responsibilities to young Justin Fields this season. The question looms on whether to keep Russ around or just let him go remains undecided.

However, if the Steelers part ways with him, Wilson might be a good option for Daboll. As for Rodgers, the Giants might want to avoid another disaster. Plus, Shedeur’s availability in the draft could cause them to rethink their plans.

Brian Daboll’s QB Dilemma: Why Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Fit the Plan

So, as the team tries to bring together a veteran QB and a young QB, what are their options among the younger ones? Well, there’s Cam Ward, and then there’s Shedeur Sanders. And mostly, the team’s name has been linked with Sanders. The Giants have been constantly visiting Colorado and reportedly met with Shedeur during the East-West Shrine Bowl.

The son of Deion Sanders (whom the Cowboys fandom wanted to see as their HC), Shedeur has been making quite a splash with the Colorado Buffaloes. This season, the 23-year-old racked up 4,134 passing yards and has 37 TDs under his name.

So he does look like a great option for Brian Daboll. They are hesitant to sign Rodgers because they remain focused on Sanders. As per Bleacher Report’s John Frascella, “The New York Giants are ‘holding off’ on Aaron Rodgers because of their potential to end up with Shedeur Sanders in the NFL Draft. Giants front office does NOT want a New York media circus including both Sanders and Rodgers.

The problem with Rodgers is that after all the drama that unfolded with the Jets this season, many do not want to see him donning the Giants jersey. And it might not be a good decision for the team, considering his age and injuries.

Ralph Vacchiano, New York Daily News reporter, posted on X why he thinks the Giants should not sign him: “He’s also high-maintenance, demanding, comes w/a lot of built-in distractions, and the Giants might have to sign a bunch of his friends.”

Well, that’s quite a statement to make, but truth be told, it does make a lot of sense. And that is the reason they are keeping him on hold.
