NFL Rumors: Nick Sirianni on Eagles’ Hot Seat Hours After Bill Belichick’s Expected Exit From Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles lost the last five of their six games, and Nick Sirianni could bear the brunt of all the chaos. Amid all the hiring and firing, Sirianni is no exception and is looking for a deadline before everything stops. His position with the Eagles depends on how the Eagles do in the wildcard game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, just like what happened to Bill Belichick’s career with the Pats recently, worse things might be in play for the current Philadelphia Eagles head coach. A couple of accounts on social media have stirred the possibility of Sirianni leaving the team, and they might not just be rumors anymore.

A tweet from MLFootball raised the possibility of the Eagles sacking Sirianni. The tweet on X is captioned, “BREAKING: The #Eagles firing head coach Nick Sirianni is “in play,” per ESPN. 😳. Sirianni took Philly to the Super Bowl last season.” While most people think he is an excellent coach, others look at the history of the last six games and base their judgment on that prerogative.

Another story from an IG account called ThePhillyFly has popped up, suggesting that Sirianni’s future depends on the next game against the Bucs. The post has an image of Sirianni, and the image says, “It’s out there that they might end up moving on. I don’t want to say that’s the most likely move but I do feel that it’s in play.”

Will Sirianni end up on the “chopping block” after the game with the Bucs concludes? It’s hard to say, but at the same time, the team has taken quite a hit, and their offense and defense don’t seem to operate at their peak efficiency. If Sirianni does get the short end of the stick, Bill Belichick might come into the picture for the Philly team.
Can Bill Belichick fix the Eagles in the next season?
The media and the fans are pushing the narrative that the Philadelphia Eagles either need to hire Bill Belichick or, in the future, they might. The coach was laid off by the Patriots after he spent 24 seasons with them. If Belichick does join the Eagles, he would be greeted with a team that has a Super Bowl experience and the pieces to possibly grab another Lombardi Trophy. It’s not to say that the Patriots are bad, but it’s safe to say that the Eagles are better.

Nick Wright delved into the idea of Belichick getting a spot as the Eagles HC and said, “It’s like, the offense is in place. The defense has all this blue-chip talent up front, and Belichick has been getting the most out of secondary players and linebackers for 20 years. Cold weather, northeastern city with a blue-chip franchise, chance to break Shula’s record, chance to get to the Super Bowl.”

Nick Wright’s words might just be enough to sway the minds of many and might even get to the Eagles’ management.
