This week, teams broke some records and created others. For the teams on the right side of it, things went well. For others, not so much. The Dallas Cowboys had the worst week so far. Not only did they stumble in the game and the rankings, but they also lost some key players along the way. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles flew high, despite early difficulties. Let’s break down which teams climbed, which fell, and what to expect in Week 4.

Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Bills
The New Orleans Saints came into this week’s game with a chance to break their losing streak; instead, it was a free fall against the Seahawks. The Saints were down by three TDs with over 4 minutes remaining in the first quarter. And that rough start snowballed quickly. Now, the Saints have seven straight defeats, dating back to last season. That’s the second-longest active losing streak in the NFL.
Going into Week 4, New Orleans faces a tough matchup against the undefeated Buffalo Bills. At present, the Bills lead the league in total offense, averaging 420 yards per game. To avoid a 0-4 start, the Saints have to clean up their penalties, protect special teams better, and find a way to slow down Buffalo’s explosive attack.

The Tennessee Titans struggled again this week. They couldn’t match the Indianapolis Colts’ physicality or discipline. Costly turnovers like Kenny Moore II’s pick-six swung momentum early. Rookie QB Cam Ward struggled to find any rhythm and was sacked four times. Their running game, led by Tony Pollard, was stifled. They had just 45 yards on 16 carries, making it tough to sustain drives or control the clock.

This week, they face the Houston Texans, a team with a disciplined style of football. The offensive line needs to hold firm against the pass rush and give Ward more time to find his rhythm. The defense is a mixed bag, but if it can apply pressure on CJ Stroud, then it can be a game-changer this Sunday.

30. Miami Dolphins (0-3)
Last week’s ranking: 32
Week 3 Result: 31-21 loss at Buffalo
PFF Rankings: 26th offense, 32nd defense
Week 4 Matchup: Monday, 7:15 pm vs. Jets
Thursday night was another tough loss in a season already filled with frustration for the Miami Dolphins. They came in with a three-game losing streak since last season and went out with four. Still, the Dolphins showed grit and kept things competitive, but this loss makes Mike McDaniel’s coaching seat even hotter. The good news is that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa stayed upright this time and avoided sacks after being taken down eight times already this season.
As they host the New York Jets Monday night, Miami can’t afford another misstep. Offensive struggles, especially in the run game, continue to plague them. They need to tighten up discipline, balance the offense, and keep the Tua-Tyreek Hill chemistry alive.
29. New York Giants (0-3)
Last week’s ranking: 25
Week 3 Result: 22-19 loss vs. Kansas City
PFF Rankings: 18th offense, 23rd defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Chargers
The New York Giants’ offense just failed miserably to find its rhythm. They managed only one pass of 25+ yards despite Russell Wilson attempting six deep throws. Out of those six attempts, two were intercepted. And Malik Nabers, their usually reliable wideout, was held to a career-low two catches for 13 yards. The team struggled mightily on third downs, converting only one of ten. And they scored just one touchdown in three tries inside the 20.

With a 0-3 start, marking their worst since 2021, the Giants now prepare to face a Los Angeles Chargers that’s undefeated and on the rise. To steal this win, New York needs to find consistency, convert on third downs, and punch touchdowns in the red zone.
28. New York Jets (0-3)
Last week’s ranking: 24
Week 3 Result: 29-27 loss at Tampa Bay
PFF Rankings: 21st offense, 27th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Monday, 7:15 pm vs. Dolphins
The New York Jets showed plenty of fight Sunday but came up short against Tampa Bay’s late surge. During the third quarter, the Jets were trailing by double digits. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor launched a spirited comeback from there. But costly turnovers and a blocked field goal that was scooped and scored by Will McDonald IV swung the momentum back to the Buccaneers.
And Taylor wasn’t flawless. He threw an interception that turned into a touchdown. And a few untimely mistakes also proved costly. The Jets are still searching for that first win of the season at 0-3 and staring at an uphill battle going forward. Now, they travel to Miami for their next matchup. Both teams will get a chance to break their losing streaks. But those turnovers are a glaring issue, which they need to fix and fast.
27. New England Patriots (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 22
Week 3 Result: 21-14 loss vs. Pittsburgh
PFF Rankings: 24th offense, 27th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Panthers
The New England Patriots fell victim to costly self-inflicted wounds Sunday, turning the ball over five times. That includes twice in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ end zone. Despite controlling the clock and outgaining the Steelers, New England couldn’t overcome the turnover gap. Their historically weak home record since 2023 (just 3-16) continues to haunt them.
They had success moving the ball and generating first downs, but repeatedly came up empty when it mattered most. But to win against the Carolina Panthers, their offensive execution must sharpen. And obviously, turnovers must be trimmed drastically if New England hopes to sharpen its playoff edge.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 21
Week 3 Result: 41-24 loss vs. Commanders
PFF Rankings: 13th offense, 30th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:25 pm vs. Bears
The Las Vegas Raiders were overmatched from start to finish. The defense couldn’t contain the Commanders’ rush or force turnovers. While the offense struggled under constant pressure. Geno Smith, repeatedly hammered by the pass rush and managed just three touchdown passes. Tre Tucker had a career day with eight catches for 145 yards and three scores. But Tucker’s heroics couldn’t mask the Raiders’ deeper issues.
The offensive line, still developing under the watchful eye of Pete Carroll’s son Brennan Carroll, looked porous once again. Special teams were similarly exposed, surrendering 245 yards in kick and punt returns, including that game-breaking 90-yard punt returned for a touchdown. Next, going up against the Chicago Bears, the team must protect the quarterback better, tighten the offensive line, and shore up special teams. Or they are going to risk more blowouts.
25. Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 15
Week 3 Result: 31-14 loss at Chicago
PFF Rankings: 6th offense, 31st defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 8:20 pm vs. Packers
The Dallas Cowboys’ offense, which is ranked among the best in the league, had the worst day possible. Dak Prescott completed 77.5% of his passes and threw for 251 yards. But two costly interceptions and a lack of red zone execution sealed their fate. Tight end Jake Ferguson had a career night with 13 receptions, the most by a tight end in the NFL this season, yet none of it translated into points when it mattered. The injuries didn’t help.
CeeDee Lamb left early because of an ankle injury. While key defensive starters Trevon Diggs and Kenny Clark limped off late, leaving the Cowboys even more vulnerable. The defense, which had been porous the week prior, couldn’t handle a now confident Bears squad. For Dallas, the secondary needs serious adjustments. And the offense must find a way to finish drives with touchdowns, not field goals or turnovers. Or they will be 1-3 at the end of Week 4.
24. Carolina Panthers (1-2)

The Panthers broke their losing streak against the Atlanta Falcons at Bank of America Stadium. From the opening drive, Carolina set a physical tone with a touchdown run by Bryce Young. The quarterback had zero turnovers and finished 16 of 24 for 121 yards while also rushing for the team’s first score.

This game marked Carolina’s first shutout since 2020 and showed real promise for a young team still finding its identity. The Falcons never once crossed into Panthers territory inside the 30-yard line all game long. Eleven possessions, and not a single break past that mark. Now, the Panthers face the Patriots on the road. To build on this win, they’ll need to maintain defensive intensity while sharpening their run game and minimizing errors.
23. Houston Texans (0-3)
Last week’s ranking: 18
Week 3 Result: 17-10 loss at Jacksonville
PFF Rankings: 25th offense, 22nd defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Titans
The Houston Texans showed plenty of fight against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a tough, physical battle Sunday at EverBank Stadium. After a back-and-forth, the Texans fell 17-10 and missed their first win out of the gate. CJ Stroud had flashes of brilliance, including a 50-yard strike to Nico Collins that briefly tied the game in the fourth quarter. But critical mistakes late kept Houston from capitalizing.
The Texans’ defense forced some turnovers, but their offense couldn’t sustain the drives when it mattered most. Going into Week 4 with a 0-3 record, Houston needs sharper execution in the red zone, cleaner ball security, and tougher late-game composure if it wants to turn its season around.
22. Cleveland Browns (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 30
Week 3 Result: 13-10 win vs. Green Bay
PFF Rankings: 32nd offense, 1st defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Lions
The Cleveland Browns pulled a shocker with the win against the Green Bay Packers. The Browns were trailing 10-0 heading into the final quarter, failing to put points on the board against a stout Packers defense. But in the last four minutes, everything changed. Andre Szmyt nailed a clutch 35-yard field goal to get them on the board. Then, Grant Delpit picked off Jordan Love and took it deep, setting up Quinshon Judkins’ one-yard touchdown that tied the game.

This comeback flipped decades of history. The Packers had not lost when leading by 10 points in the last four minutes since 1967, and the Browns hadn’t won in this scenario since 2002. For Week 4, the Browns must sharpen their offensive consistency. The defense showed it can hold strong under pressure, but Cleveland’s offense needs to find that spark earlier in games rather than relying on last-minute heroics.
21. Atlanta Falcons (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 16
Week 3 Result: 30-0 loss at Carolina
PFF Rankings: 20th offense, 18th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Commanders
The Panthers shut out the Falcons, leaving them to search for answers. Despite Bijan Robinson’s 111 yards from scrimmage, the offense couldn’t crack Carolina’s defense. Michael Penix Jr. threw two interceptions, and the coach benched him for Kirk Cousins in the fourth quarter.
This loss snapped their streak of 78 straight games scoring at least one point on the road. This week brings a home matchup against the Commanders. The Falcons must shore up their defense, protect the football, and find ways to sustain drives if they want to stop the slide and remain competitive in the NFC South.
20. Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 13
Week 3 Result: 48-10 loss at Minnesota
PFF Rankings: 26th offense, 15th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Monday, 8:15 pm at Broncos
The Cincinnati Bengals must fix the cracks that were exposed this week before the next game. The offense stalled against the Minnesota Vikings’ relentless pressure and turnovers. A 45-yard field goal from Evan McPherson did put points on the board, but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep pace. Cincinnati’s offense faltered under constant pressure and turnovers by Isaiah Rodgers.
Head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged the need to make corrections quickly, as the Bengals now look ahead to a tough Monday Night Football matchup against Denver. The backup quarterback, Jake Browning, needs to focus on consistent plays because his connections with receivers were limited under pressure.
19. Chicago Bears (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 27
Week 3 Result: 31-14 win vs. Dallas
PFF Rankings: 9th offense, 29th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:25 pm at Las Vegas
The Bears completely dismantled the Dallas Cowboys, and the credit goes to Caleb Williams. After a slow start to the season, Williams exploded with four touchdown passes to four different targets. He even set a career high in passer rating (142.6) and 10.6 pass yards per attempt. The highlight of the game was: Williams faced zero sacks in a game. That’s a stark contrast to his 68 sacks last season.
The Bears’ offense fired up its cylinders to make the Cowboys’ defense struggle. Still, the Bears know the road ahead is long. Next week’s matchup demands they keep this offensive firepower but tighten up a defense that gave up 14 points to a beat-up Dallas offense.
18. Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 17
Week 3 Result: 16-15 loss at San Francisco
PFF Rankings: 14th offense, 13th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Thursday 8:15 pm vs. Seahawks
The Arizona Cardinals fought hard but came up short in a tight 16-15 loss in San Francisco. Their defense did hold strong for much of the game, but a few costly mistakes in coverage and penalties hurt their chances. The key moments, like Marvin Harrison Jr.’s catch and a tight pass interference call, did set up a short-yardage touchdown.
Offensively, Arizona struggled to unlock its run game, especially after James Conner’s ankle injury dealt a blow to the rushing attack. Arizona failed to convert critical third downs and threw an interception in the last minutes. The Cardinals now head to face Seattle, a matchup that requires improvement in ball security, penalty discipline, and opening up the running game to keep defenses honest.
17. Denver Broncos (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 20
Week 4 Result: 23-20 loss at Los Angeles
PFF Rankings: 29th offense, 19th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Monday 8:15 pm vs. Bengals
The Denver Broncos experienced heartbreak for the second straight week with a 1-2 start. Bo Nix struggled to capitalize on chances. He posted 14 completions for 153 yards and missed throws that could have swung the game. A critical third-and-13 scramble fell inches short late, essentially shifting momentum to the Chargers.
The Broncos’ offense was down by penalties and an inability to maintain drives. They also suffered 10 penalties for 90 yards. Defensively, they bent but didn’t break. They made crucial stands, but couldn’t hold the lead when it mattered most. Moving forward to Week 4, they must clean up discipline issues, improve consistency on third down, and sharpen execution in pressure moments if they want to turn their season around.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 19
Week 3 Result: 21-14 win at New England
PFF Rankings: 30th offense, 17th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday 9:30 am vs. Vikings (Dublin)
The Steelers’ defense was the story on Sunday in Foxboro. It carried the game by forcing five turnovers and recording five sacks. They stood tall with two goal-line stops and a crucial fourth-and-1 stop to seal the win. Coach Mike Tomlin emphasized the importance of those red zone takeaways: “Those takeaways down there were big.”
While the offense sputtered for most of the game. Aaron Rodgers got into rhythm late, tossing the game-winning touchdown pass to DK Metcalf. A milestone play that pushed Rodgers past Brett Favre to fourth on the NFL’s all-time touchdown list. To face the Vikings next, Pittsburgh focuses on riding this momentum, but with an emphasis on sustaining offensive rhythm earlier in games and keeping the defense dominant.
15. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 26
Week 3 Result: 17-10 win vs. Houston
PFF Rankings: 19th offense, 2nd defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:05 pm at 49ers
The Jaguars had their first win over the Texans in Jacksonville since 2017. Houston had snapped it in 2024. Trevor Lawrence connected with Brian Thomas Jr. on a clutch 46-yard catch-and-run that set up Travis Etienne Jr.’s go-ahead touchdown with just 1:48 remaining on the clock.

The Jaguars’ defense held strong, allowing just 271 yards, with two sacks and three critical turnovers. Plus, all in the fourth quarter and all inside their 20-yard line. Now at 2-1 and unbeaten at home, Jacksonville rides this momentum ahead to face the 49ers. But they’ll need to tighten coverage and maintain offensive consistency to chase down San Francisco and keep their AFC South hopes alive.
14. Minnesota Vikings (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 23
Week 3 Result: 48-10 win vs. Cincinnati
PFF Rankings: 16th offense, 10th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday 9:30 am vs. Steelers (Dublin)
The Vikings turned heads with a dominant 48-10 blowout of the Bengals this week. But as usual, Isaiah Rodgers stole the spotlight, making NFL history by forcing two fumbles and returning both for touchdowns in one game. No one had ever achieved this feat before since the NFL began recording the stats in 1991.
The Vikings’ defense overwhelmed the Bengals, racking up four sacks, seven tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits. On offense, Carson Wentz impressed in his debut, efficiently spreading the ball to playmakers with a 129.8 passer rating. Moving forward, Minnesota needs to focus on vulnerabilities. Their defense is strong, but injuries are a growing concern. And protecting their back QB, Wentz, will be the key to more wins.
13. Seattle Seahawks (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 14
Week 3 Result: 44-13 win vs. New Orleans
PFF Rankings: 4th offense, 7th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Thursday, 8:15 pm at Cardinals
The Seahawks looked sharp and in control against the Saints this past Sunday. Special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh earned a game ball after his unit sparked the rout early. Rookie Tory Horton electrified the crowd with a 95-yard punt return touchdown, the longest in franchise history, that put Seattle up 14-0 in a flash. This win stood out, as Seattle had lost seven of their last 10 at Lumen Field before this.
One of the biggest challenges for the Seahawks has been stopping the running game. But this defensive unit made sure the running backs didn’t get comfortable, especially Alvin Kamara. Now, the Seahawks turn their attention to a crucial division clash with the Cardinals on Thursday night. The key to another win would be minimizing mistakes and keeping their offense humming under pressure.
12. Kansas City Chiefs (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 10
Week 3 Result: 22-9 win at New York Giants
PFF Rankings: 23rd offense, 14th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday 4:25 pm vs. Ravens
The Kansas City Chiefs finally ended their two-game losing streak. But their offense was far from flashy. Patrick Mahomes did enough, completing 22 of 37 passes for 224 yards and throwing a touchdown to Tyquan Thornton. The defense made key stops and forced turnovers to keep the Giants off balance. Travis Kelce, still searching for his groove, recorded four catches, matching his season best.
This victory keeps the Chiefs alive, pulling them out of the dangerous 0-3 hole. Now, next up is a tough clash against the Baltimore Ravens, a team that has frustrated them at Arrowhead for years. To keep its playoff hopes alive, Kansas City will need to sharpen its offensive explosiveness and maintain its defensive intensity.
11. Green Bay Packers (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 3
Week 3 Result: 13-10 loss at Cleveland
PFF Rankings: 11th offense, 3rd defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 8:20 pm at Cowboys
This loss stings the most for the Packers. They held a lead that looked like it would turn into a shutout win, but instead, the Browns swooped it right from under their noses. Before this, Green Bay had a streak of 300 straight wins in regular seasons when leading by 10 points in the final four minutes. That streak ended at Huntington Bank Field.
It was a humbling loss, marred by 14 costly penalties, including two from Micah Parsons, who openly took responsibility for the meltdown. The Packers now face a critical test to fix their protection issues, clean up mistakes, and close out games better.
10. Los Angeles Rams (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 7
Week 3 Result: 33-26 loss at Philadelphia
PFF Rankings: 2nd offense, 4th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:05 pm vs. Colts
For the Los Angeles Rams, this week was a harsh wake-up call. They had the lead, until they didn’t. Their offensive balance showed promise, but their passing game lacked the third weapon. They desperately need a third pass catcher, beyond Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Matthew Stafford’s deep throws often went to just those two, limiting offensive creativity and making it easier for the Eagles to defend.
The defense, while strong upfront with four sacks, couldn’t cover all areas. And ended up giving 226 passing yards (for the first time this season) and three touchdowns. This week, the Rams need to find that missing receiver, sharpen red-zone execution, and shore up secondary coverage.
9. Washington Commanders (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 9
Week 3 Result: 41-24 win vs. Las Vegas
PFF Rankings: 12th offense, 20th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Falcons
The Commanders put on a dominating performance at home. From the jump, it looked like the better team. Deebo Samuel’s explosive 69-yard kickoff return set the tone, giving them a great field position and a burst of momentum. Backup QB Marcus Mariota, stepping in for Jayden Daniels, controlled the offense with a mix of precision passing and smart rushing. He finished with 207 passing yards and completed 15 of 21 passes.
The defense was relentless as well, sacking Geno Smith five times and forcing key turnovers. The win reinforces their status as a physical and opportunistic team. But Week 4 brings a new test. They will have to maintain this aggressive defense as it will be vital to put the Falcons’ offense under pressure.
8. Baltimore Ravens (1-2)
Last week’s ranking: 4
Week 3 Result: 38-30 loss vs. Detroit
PFF Rankings: 10th offense, 11th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:25 pm at Chiefs
The Baltimore Ravens left the game frustrated, knowing mistakes cost them dearly. Running back Derrick Henry’s fumble in the fourth quarter was one of the main reasons Baltimore lost. The defense gave up two long touchdown drives, a rare and troubling pattern for a team built on toughness. Lamar Jackson fought hard, throwing two touchdown passes to Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews, setting a team record with his ninth straight game of multiple touchdown passes.

Yet, the Ravens’ offensive line struggled mightily, with Jackson sacked a career-high seven times, stalling drives and putting the team on the back foot. Heading to Arrowhead Stadium in Week 4 will be a tough test for them. Considering the fact that they’ve allowed 29 points per game historically, and that they’ve never beaten Patrick Mahomes at Kansas City.
7. Indianapolis Colts (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 12
Week 3 Result: 41-20 win at Tennessee
PFF Rankings: 1st offense, 15th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:05 pm at Rams
The Colts looked unstoppable this week at Nissan Stadium. At 3-0, Indianapolis has already put up 103 points this season. That’s more than they’ve scored after three games since 1967. Jonathan Taylor’s 46-yard touchdown run was a thunderous highlight, one that could easily headline his career highlights. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones was rock solid. He did not give a single turnover and zero sacks.
They kept Tennessee flat, never letting them build any momentum. Indianapolis played with discipline and relentless physicality. This 3-0 start is their best since 2009. Now, the real test will be keeping this discipline against the Rams, known for their aggressive playmakers on both sides of the ball. Another challenge would be to protect Jones so that he has time to find the receivers. They’ve got a chance to make noise this season, but it starts with staying hungry.
6. San Francisco 49ers (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 11
Week 3 Result: 16-15 win vs. Arizona
PFF Rankings: 8th offense, 8th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 4:05 pm vs. Jaguars
The 49ers barely escaped a loss this week. The clash wasn’t pretty, but it was enough to snap the season’s perfect start since 2023. San Francisco leaned heavily on defense and the versatility of Christian McCaffrey, and newcomer kicker Eddy Pineiro. The kicker nailed a flawless 35-yard field goal as time expired to seal the win.
McCaffrey carved his name in NFL history. He rushed 17 times and caught 10 passes, boosting his season totals to 52 carries and 25 receptions in just three games. That puts him alongside Thurman Thomas, the only other player in league history to hit those numbers this early in a season, back in 1991.
San Francisco’s defense bent but didn’t break. It stopped Arizona on key red-zone opportunities. Looking ahead to Week 4, the 49ers return home to host the Jacksonville Jaguars. They’ll need to shore up the offensive line, keep their defense sharp, and find ways to sustain drives to ease the pressure on Pineiro’s foot.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 6
Week 3 Result: 29-27 win vs. New York Jets
PFF Rankings: 17th offense, 12th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Eagles
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kept their perfect start alive, with Baker Mayfield keeping his cool under pressure for the third straight week. Mayfield calmly led a two-minute drill to set up Chase McLaughlin’s fifth field goal of the game, a 36-yarder as the clock hit zero. This victory marks the first time since 2005 that the Bucs have gone 3-0 in the season. A mark they’ve only hit five times in franchise history.
Now, the Buccaneers gear up for an epic showdown against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. This will be a true test of Tampa Bay’s grit and ability to prove they belong among the NFC’s elite. They must work on closing games more cleanly, as living on the edge each week wears thin quickly.
4. Detroit Lions (2-1)
Last week’s ranking: 8
Week 3 Result: 38-30 win at Baltimore
PFF Rankings: 5th offense, 9th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Browns
The Detroit Lions finally broke the long-standing curse. In four previous trips to Baltimore, they had never come this close, let alone won. But Monday night was different. It was their running game that bruised the Ravens’ defense. Running backs Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, and All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown — together they have recorded at least one scrimmage touchdown in 10 games this season. That’s the most in such games by any trio of teammates in NFL history, according to ESPN research.
The defense had a shaky start, allowing an opening-drive touchdown for the third straight game, a first in 25 years for Detroit. But then they regrouped, sacking Lamar Jackson seven times and forcing Baltimore into mistakes. Heading into Week 4, sharpening that opening drive defense will be crucial. And continuing to put pressure on the opposing quarterbacks to make mistakes.
3. Los Angeles Chargers (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 5
Week 3 Result: 23-20 win vs. Denver
PFF Rankings: 7th offense, 5th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Giants
This win for the Los Angeles Chargers gave them a perfect 3-0 start. They made history by becoming the first team since the 2006 Bears to start 3-0 with three wins in division play. Justin Herbert was under siege all game and sacked five times, yet his poise remained clear. Late in the fourth, he drove back-to-back scoring marches. He completed 28 of 47 for 300 yards, which wasn’t extraordinary but was enough.
The Chargers thrive on resilience, but protection for Herbert is a glaring issue. And injuries are already thinning the offensive line. For this week, they must tighten pass protection and limit sacks if they want to keep rolling. The defense showed grit, making key stops late, but they’ll need to sustain pressure and reduce soft coverage lanes against the ruthless giants.
2. Buffalo Bills (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 1
Week 3 Result: 31-21 win vs. Dolphins
PFF Rankings: 3rd offense, 21st defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm vs. Saints
Expectations were high for the Buffalo Bills entering this week. And they didn’t disappoint despite facing a tough battle from the Miami Dolphins. The game stayed close much of the way, with the Dolphins pushing hard and keeping it within striking distance. But with just over three minutes left and the Bills up 28-21, Buffalo’s defense showed why they’re one of the best in the league.
This win was the Bills’ 25th consecutive win in the turnover battle, including the playoffs, setting an NFL record for the longest streak in NFL history. They even stretched their home division winning streak to 11 straight, the longest since the Patriots’ dominant run a decade ago. The Bills are clearly a team that knows how to finish. So, looking ahead to their Week 4 clash with the Saints, they will need to keep that defensive intensity and continue making big plays to keep their undefeated streak alive.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (3-0)
Last week’s ranking: 2
Week 3 Result: 33-26 win vs. Los Angeles Rams
PFF Rankings: 14th offense, 6th defense
Week 4 Matchup: Sunday, 1 pm at Buccaneers
The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off a stunning comeback this week at Lincoln Financial Field. They were down 19 points in the second half and struggling with just 33 total net yards of offense in the first half. But Jalen Hurts and the offense caught fire in the third and fourth quarters, mixing physical runs and clutch throws to score 26 unanswered points.
The defense and special teams stepped up in a big way, with two crucial blocked field goals, including a game-sealing 61-yard touchdown return by Jordan Davis. At 3-0, the Eagles now head to Tampa for a huge clash with the unbeaten Buccaneers. To keep this momentum going, Philadelphia must sustain better offensive production early and maintain relentless pressure on opponents’ offenses.
