NFL Super Bowl LVIII has been an underwhelming yet tactical spectacle so far. With the 1st half ending in the 49ers’ lead, they will be extremely confident in exacting their revenge against their old foes. They started extremely quickly off the block, with Jauan Jennings being key to their efforts in the Super Bowl clash. While it took them a while to notch their first points on the board, their run-game, and attacking stance have outdone the Chiefs currently.

This was evident for the TD that the Chiefs conceded, with Jennings playing a crucial role in it. His effort in the Lead-taking TD has made him a part of NFL and Super Bowl History. It gets more interesting as Jauan Jennings hasn’t scored a single post-season TD so far!

The pass that ultimately led to the TD started with Brock Purdy. 49ers QB handed the ball off to Jennings as Purdy felt potentially pressured by the Chiefs defense and took an assist from the 49ers WR who in turn found the amazing pass to McCaffrey. The sideways pass to Christian McCaffrey from one side to the other allowed the RB to unlock his heels and fly off to score the opening TD of Super Bowl LVIII.

The TD pass sees him join Antwaan Randle as the second-ever WR to throw a TD pass. The time gap between the first and second ever 2nd-TD pass is almost 2 decades with an 18-year gap to be exact. Juan Jennings has etched himself in SB history and could very well etch himself in 49ers history books if they go on to win the SB.

While the 49ers are halfway through the Super Bowl and already holding a 7-point lead over the Chiefs, they know they cannot sit back with peace just yet. The Super Bowl Rematch from 2020 is one of vengeance for the 49ers. But they’ll hope they can keep their calm and see this match through to make history for both Kyle Shanahan and CMC.
