The Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens are on the brink of an epic AFC championship clash. Both teams are driven by a deep, burning desire for victory. At the helm of these two teams are two quarterbacks of rare MVP caliber. Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson set the stage for a duel that’s as much about offensive brilliance as it is about the most fearsome defenses.

Jackson shared a determined stance on facing Mahomes

Lamar Jackson recently sat before the press with the weight of the upcoming AFC Championship game heavy in the air. At the beginning of the interaction, a reporter fired a pointed question about Mahomes. He asked, “How much sweeter would it be to get the win against a quarterback that has led his team to six straight championship games as well?” Jackson’s reply was measured yet tinged with an unyielding resolve.

He acknowledged Mahomes’ towering record, a 3-1 head-to-head looming large. However, he asserted, “It doesn’t matter who he was playing, I was going to feel the same way.” The Ravens’ leader, with a steely gaze, dismisses the weight of Mahomes’ past triumphs, “I’m not really worried about what he’s done with his team.” He added, “They’ve been going to the AFC each and every year, and it seems like the Super Bowl has been every year since I’ve been in the league.”

But still, his hunger for victory radiated as he said, “It’ll definitely be a good feeling, you know, just to win.” To make winning easier, Mahomes has his trusted tight end Travis Kelce. But in contrast, Jackson’s arsenal seems diminished, with TE Mark Andrews sidelined by injury. The question arises: Will Mark Andrews return in the next game?

Mark Andrews might come back

While facing the Chiefs, the Ravens are almost set to welcome back a vital player, their tight end Mark Andrews. Also, his return will come after a challenging injury that sidelined him since November 2023.

Andrews is definitely known for his telepathic connection with QB Lamar Jackson. He has also been instrumental in the Ravens’ offense, earning All-Pro status. Despite participating in full practice sessions before the divisional-round win over the Texans, Andrews wasn’t activated from IR for that game.
