And so, he is also seen as an idol father, which is why Vanessa Bryant, Kobe Bryant’s wife, tributed him recently. Vanessa herself being a mother of two daughters now, knows what it feels to be a girl parent. Thus, to honor this, Vanessa gifted him a precious memory on a very special day – “Father’s Day.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Russell Wilson, shared an Instagram story recently on Father’s Day, June 16. In the story video, he displayed special gifts sent by Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant. The gifts were of Nike’s “Nice Kicks” goodies, an honor to Kobe. It included a pair of sneakers, Kobe’s favorite memory – basketball, and a girl dad title.

Wilson is a father to his two daughters, Sienna Princess and newly-born Amora Princess. So, to thank Vanessa, Wilson uploaded the story with the song “Daughters” by John Mayer, as well as wrote a caption saying: “So GRATEFUL! Thanks Sis for the amazing Father’s Day gift! #GirlDad.” He also tagged Vanessa and Nike in the story.

Nice Kicks is essentially a tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, also known as Gigi, who died in a helicopter crash in 2020. In honor of Mamba Day, Nike revists the features of every shoe Kobe ever played in. Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, who is partnered with Nike and its Nice Kicks sub brand, occasionally does giveaways in which she and the brand give Kobe tribute gifts to girl dads.

After Bryant and Gigi’s death, Vanessa was left with their daughters Natalia Diamante Bryant and Gianna Bryant. Thus, as a girl parent, she honors lucky girl dads with Nice Kicks goodies, to give tribute to Kobe’s love for his daughters. And this Father’s Day, she chose Russell Wilson to surprise him on the day.
