The success of the Chiefs has given the city a new sense of identity and confidence. People no longer see Kansas City as a “ghost town” but as a vibrant and important place. Someone asked Rustin if Mahomes caused the resurgence of Kansas City. He replied, “When Patrick Mahomes arrives in 2017, the city’s sort of already on this upward trajectory… but then Mahomes has kind of changed everything.”

The host drew a comparison to Michael Jordan.People often associated Chicago with negative things like Al Capone before Jordan. But after Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships, the city became known for its basketball greatness. Just like things changed with the arrival of Patrick Mahomes.
