Week 5 of the NFL season was full of upsets and double-digit comebacks. On paper, the Week 6 slate doesn’t look as good as last week’s, but there are still quite a few entertaining matchups, especially in the late windows.

Here’s one big question looming over every single NFL Week 6 game.

Broncos at Jets (London): Will the Bo Nix turnaround continue?

Bo Nix was one of the most hyped up quarterbacks coming into the season, but he has not lived up to expectations thus far. He’s thrown for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns, but has turned it over four times. However, he had a big fourth quarter against the Eagles to come back and win, and I think it’ll be the turning point of his season.

The New York Jets have one of the worst defenses in the league, so Nix should have another big outing on Sunday morning. If he balls out and has another big game, I expect Nix to keep playing at a high level for the rest of the season.

Cardinals at Colts: How will the Cardinals respond to the awkward tension in the locker room?

Last week, Emari Demercado ripped off a huge touchdown run that would’ve sealed the game against the Tennessee Titans, but he dropped the ball short of the goal line, and it was ruled a touchback. The Titans would end up coming back from 17 down to beat the Arizona Cardinals and earn their first win of the season.

During the game, Cardinals Head Coach Johnathan Gannon (rightfully) was upset with Demercado, and smacked him on the chest. He was later fined $100,000 and publicly apologized for the incident. It’s hard to imagine that there is no awkward tension in the locker room right now. Will the situation bring the team closer together? Or has Gannon lost the locker room, and could this be the beginning of the end of his tenure in Arizona?

Chargers at Dolphins: Can the Chargers get back on track despite piling injury list?

The Los Angeles Chargers started the season red hot, winning their first three games. However, the injury bug is already hitting hard, and they’re down a ton of players. Since their 3-0 start, they’ve lost back-to-back games, but with the Miami Dolphins on deck, can they get back in the win column? They should still be the better team, but their injury list is LONG.

Patriots at Saints: Can the Pats cement themselves as a playoff team?

The New England Patriots were widely viewed as a team that’s a year or two away from making the playoffs before the season. But after a hot start, which included upsetting the Bills on Sunday night, they can firmly put themselves in the playoff conversation with a win over the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints are 1-4, but have been very competitive this year. Drake Maye and the Patriots should have the fire power to knock off the Saints in the Superdome, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this game is close. With a win, the Pats would move to 4-2 and put themselves in the thick of the AFC playoff race.

Browns at Steelers: Who wins, the Browns’ defense or Steelers’ offense?

You can almost forget about the other side of the ball. What this game will really come down to is, who will win, the Cleveland Browns‘ defense or the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ offense?

Despite their 1-4 record, the Browns have one of the best defenses in football. On the other side, the Steelers offense has been serviceable, but not great. We saw the Browns defense completely shut down Green Bay in Week 3, so can they do the same to the Steelers?

The Browns’ defense is good enough to keep them in games they have no business being in, so if the Steelers aren’t careful, this game could come down to the wire.

Cowboys at Panthers: Can the Panthers’ offense keep up with the Cowboys?

We know no matter who the Dallas Cowboys are playing, they’re going to put points on the board. So the question for the Carolina Panthers is, can they keep up?

Normally, the answer would be no, but the Cowboys’ defense is very bad. They’ve given up nearly 30 points per game this season, so even an offense like Carolina’s has a shot of scoring 28+ points. Plus, Bryce Young looked pretty good against the Dolphins last week, so if he can replicate that performance, the Panthers might have a shot.

Seahawks at Jaguars: Will the Jags fall victim to the trap game?

The Jacksonville Jaguars just got a big, emotional win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, and now they’ll stay at home and host the Seattle Seahawks, who are traveling across the country and coming off a last-minute loss.

Usually a trap game comes against a weaker opponent, and the Seahawks certainly aren’t that, but this has that same kind of feeling to it. The Jags riding high, they’re facing an opponent who feels they should’ve won last week and they’re the favorites. I wouldn’t be at all shocked if the Jags come out slow, fall behind early and lose this game by 10+.

Rams at Ravens: How will the weather affect this game?

It’s going to be a rainy, windy weekend in Baltimore this weekend, and there just so happens to be an NFL game that could be turned on its head because of it.

On paper, the Los Angeles Rams should blow the Baltimore Ravens out. But if the rain and wind become a factor, who knows what’ll happen.

If it’s super wet and windy and both teams struggle throwing the football, this could turn into some old school football. I know Derrick Henry hasn’t been great this year, but I’d take him over Kyren Williams in inclement weather any day of the week. If both guys have to carry it 25+ times, I think Henry could help the Ravens pull off an upset.

However, if the rain and wind aren’t much of a factory (which is looking more and more likely), I’ll take the Rams to win pretty easily.

Titans at Raiders: Will anyone be watching?

I don’t think anyone outside of Raiders and Titans fans will be tuning into this game (and maybe even they won’t). This is arguably the two worst offenses in the league going head-to-head in a battle of who can punt the least. Even though both of these defenses aren’t great, I still don’t think we’ll see many points in this game.

This is just going to be an ugly game to watch. I’d rather drive to my local high school and watch two junior varsity teams go head-to-head than watch all 60 minutes of this game.

Bengals at Packers: How will the Joe Flacco experiment go?

The Cincinnati Bengals are trying to save their season by trading for Joe Flacco, but will it really make a difference? The Bengals have one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and Flacco is not as mobile as he once was (and he was never really that mobile). Will he actually be able to elevate this offense and win games, or will he just look like a less-mobile Jake Browning?

I know it’s only his first week with the team, so it won’t really tell us everything, but we should learn enough to get an idea of how the rest of the season will go.

49ers at Buccaneers: Which quarterback will out-duel the other?

article-image

With both teams struggling to run the football in recent weeks, this game will comedown to which quarterback can out-duel the other.

Baker Mayfield is one of the favorites to win the MVP award through five weeks, having thrown for 1,283 yards and 10 touchdowns to one interception. Mac Jones has only played in three games, but is averaging the most yards per game of any quarterback and has a 6-1 TD:INT ratio.

Will Mayfield be able to put the Buccaneers on his back again this week? Or will Jones have another 300+ yard performance to push the Niners past the Bucs? We’ll see on Sunday, but whoever wins will be in first place in the NFC.

Lions at Chiefs: Can Kansas City avoid playoff disaster?

The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-3 and staring down the barrel of a 2-4 start. Less than 10 percent of the teams that start 2-4 have made the playoffs, and with the Detroit Lions coming to town, a loss would put them in a horrible spot.

If the Chiefs win, I don’t think there’s any doubt that they’ll make the playoffs. They’ll be 3-3 with most of their hard games out of the way. But if they lose and fall to 2-4, things quickly get a bit more worrisome up there in Kansas City (they’d probably still make it, though).

Bills at Falcons: Can Buffalo get back on track?

article-image

The Buffalo Bills had a bit of a stumble on Sunday night, losing their first game of the season to the Patriots. The Bills just looked out of sync offensively for most of the game, but should be able to get back on track this week.

The Atlanta Falcons aren’t a bad team, but I don’t foresee them putting up too much of a fight. Michael Penix hasn’t looked great this year, and I just don’t see a world where they keep up with the Bills’ offense.

Bears at Commanders: Who will take control of the NFC Wild Card race?

Both the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders figure to be in the mix of the NFC Wild Card race this season. It’s early in the season, but this game could have massive playoff implications down the line. Whoever comes out on top will have a big head-to-head tiebreaker over the other when it comes time to seed the playoffs.

Will Jayden Daniels be able to lead the Commanders to victory and move to 4-2? Or will Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense prove too much for the Commanders’ defense to handle? It’s clear that whoever wins will have a big advantage in the Wild Card race.
