Football fans and analysts are deeply invested in Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys’ saga right now. The QB staying with the Dallas team next year is not confirmed yet. What’s confirmed is that Prescott will get paid this year regardless, and the fact that the team cannot place a franchise tag on him this year.
The 3x Pro Bowler appeared in Children’s Cancer Fund’s gala and reporters stormed him to know what’s next in store for him. The Cowboys QB was very diplomatic and cryptic in his talks and didn’t divulge any plans concerning the same. Thus, as speculations surround the QB and his next move, SPEAK hosts believed that Prescott has a good chance of securing a deal, whether with the Cowboys or not. The host highlighted these chances by bringing QBs like Kirk Cousins into the conversation.

In the conversation, Joy Taylor drew some comparisons between Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott. From her point of view, Dak Prescott is better than Cousins in many ways when it comes to football. According to her, Cousins getting a 4-year $180 million deal from the Falcons at the age of 35 is proof enough that the league will always be open to paying Dak Prescott more. Hence the QB doesn’t need to put a good or bad persona in front of anyone.
“Dak doesn’t need to do anything. He can just be the nice guy, he cannot ruin his reputation in Dallas whatsoever,” said Taylor and later added, “There is no reason for him to ruin his reputation in Dallas by being the bad guy because he’s going to get paid whether it’s the Dallas Cowboys or another team.”

While we don’t know what persona Dak Prescott will choose to keep, we can agree with the fact that Troy Aikman and Tony Romo have gone on to make a comfortable career for themselves in the broadcasting world. Their Cowboys association paid off. Despite any reaction from the quarterback’s side, one thing is for sure, based on his skills and abilities, he has a long and affluent career ahead of him. As far as the comparison between Cousins and Prescott is considered, the stats dip toward one side.
Taking a brief look into their career highlights, Prescott has overshadowed Cousins in a lot of places. Prescott has been an All-Pro, while Cousins hasn’t. The Cowboys QB has been an MVP runner-up while Cousins never received an MVP vote. Prescott won 40% of his career regular season games and Cousins won about 25% and the list goes on. Probably, these were the reasons Taylor was pointing out of the podcast and the doors of opportunity it leaves open for the 30-year-old. However, as mentioned by the QB, his attention is fully fixed on the present.

The Cowboys’ QB is focused on the current situation
As mentioned earlier, Prescott took part in the Children’s Cancer Fund’s event and the media had a few things to ask him. The QB was asked whether he’d still be here with the Cowboys, “based on his conversation with Jerry [Jones].” “I don’t fear either situation, to be candid with you. I love this game and love to play and love to better myself as a player and my teammates around me, ” said Prescott with composure.
