The Packers’ offseason moves continue. In the latest update, they have decided to move on from Jordan Love‘s former teammate from the United Football League. The move came from nowhere after the drafts. In the 2025 NFL draft, the Packers selected Matthew Golden and three other candidates on the offensive side of the team. Whereas the defensive line got one CB, one DT, and two edge rushers. But hold on, the Packers’ decision on Jordan’s teammates doesn’t affect the selection of these future star players.

Yes, the Packers made a final decision on Tulu Griffin and waived the 24-year-old WR. He had signed a one-year $840,000 deal with the Packers in January this year. The worst part about this harsh decision would be the financial advantages Tulu missed; he had signed a one-year deal of one year but none of that was guaranteed.

So, now, Tulu will be on the waivers wire and will be open for any team to claim. There are no NFL games to evaluate Tulu as he hasn’t played any, but we can get an idea of how much potential he has to become one of the star wide receivers in 2025. In his four years at Mississippi State, Tulu made 126 receptions for 1,490 yards to land nine touchdowns. Along with that, in 2023, he also made 17 rushing attempts for 74 yards and scored one TD. So, he could be a beast if NFL teams believe in him.

The Packers’ crowded WR room likely prompted Tulu Griffin’s decision. Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden, Savion Williams, Dontayvion Wicks, Mecole Hardman, Bo Melton, Malik Heath, Julian Hicks, and Cornelius Johnson. These are the 11 WRs Jordan Love’s offensive squad has. It looks like they have to go through a lot of competition. But that’s not the case with WRs only, the same goes for the CB room. And one of the main characters in the cornerbacks issue is Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander’s 49ers possibility amid rumors

The 2024 season saw a rift between Jaire Alexander and the Green Bay Packers. Actually, Jordan Love was indirectly requesting the Packers front office to keep Jaire, but the reports hitting Green Bay indicate that the Packers may move on from the 2018 NFL draft pick. There are still two years left on his $84,000,000 contract. But his performance and behaviour in the locker room led the Packers to think about trading him. Right now, per sources, both sides want to move on from each other.

While Jaire Alexander wanted to move on from Jordan Love’s team, the San Francisco 49ers have a seat for him. As the 49ers lost cornerback Charvarius Ward in free agency, there is a high probability for Jaire. And according to Albert Breer, “I could throw the San Francisco 49ers, [the] Rams, [the] Steelers and [the] Chiefs out there as teams that entered the draft with needs at the position, and didn’t take corners in the first two rounds of the draft.” So, looking at this availability, the first option Breer picked was Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers, which could be a great fit for Jaire Alexander.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jaire Alexander's potential move to the 49ers a smart play, or a risky gamble?

But there are three issues with Jaire’s landing problem. First, Jaire’s cap hit totals $24 million this year. And next year it will increase as well. Secondly, his character issue is the main thing teams will look into before signing him. The league suspended him for one game in December 2023. That was because of ‘conduct detrimental to the team,’ after a coin toss incident before a game against the Carolina Panthers. Although he wasn’t a designated captain, Alexander joined the toss, correctly called tails. But then, he nearly messed up the decision on which half the Packers would play.

And thirdly, he suffered two injuries in the past two seasons. On September 25, 2024, he had a groin injury. Then on November 5, 2023, he hurt his shoulder and missed six games. But there are not only two injuries. In fact, he has suffered injury every single season since 2017, except in 2019.

So, these things will be counted before landing him in the city of San Francisco. Let’s see if Jordan Love’s buddy can land in San Francisco this year.
