At the end of the Aaron Rodgers-Micah Parsons battle in Week 8, it was the latter’s grandma who had the last laugh. Watching her grandson prove his elite status not just served as a reassuring sight for the old lady. In fact, it was just the perfect amount of fuel she needed to fire the family group chat, a glimpse of which we got thanks to Parsons’ sister.

“Aaron is seeing the ghost of Micah out side of his eyes 👀😆 that PRESSURE IS REAL,” read a hilarious text screenshot shared by Shatara on her Instagram Stories, after the Green Bay Packers’ 35-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The play the Parsons’ family matriarch was talking about? Well, it was just as head-turning as she described.

On the Steelers’ first drive of the fourth quarter, the recently traded player had managed to outrun multiple blockers. Sneaking up on Rodgers from behind, Parsons sacked him 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. However, the veteran signal caller was not going to give up without a fight. Before even seeing the edge rusher behind him, Rodgers threw the ball to the ground just in time, making an intentional incomplete pass.
“He was just like, ‘The crowd showed me that you was behind me,’” Parsons later revealed to Yahoo Sports. “‘I heard you coming because of the crowd.’ The crowd started getting loud so he knew somebody was coming.”

But, unfortunately, even such schemes couldn’t help the Steelers.

After Pittsburgh controlled much of the first half, leading 16-7 at halftime, the Packers’ defense tightened up, allowing Jordan Love to take over offensively.
Love delivered one of his best performances of the season, completing 29 of 37 passes for 360 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. What’s more, he also recorded a quarterback rating of 134.2. Rodgers, meanwhile, went 24 of 36 for 219 yards, two scores, and three sacks, as Green Bay pulled away late.

The Packers’ victory and Micah Parsons’ dominance
The Packers had a 22-19 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. With that sack and the relentless pressure that followed, the Steelers ultimately had to punt the ball. After that, the Packers went full-throttle, adding a touchdown and two field goals to bring the score up to 35-19. The Steelers did manage a score late in the fourth quarter, but the 35-25 victory was all but sealed. Yet, it was Parsons who managed to capture most people’s thoughts…
…Including Mike Tomlin’s.
Long before his team suited up for the game, the head coach made it clear that Steel City needed to plan around the edge rusher.
“He’s an alien. He’s visiting from another planet,” the head coach said earlier this week. “All of these guys in the National Football League are talented, but there are levels to this. Some people are freaky, even among the freaks, and he is one of those guys. I was at his Pro Day, and he outran cornerbacks.
“That told you everything you needed to know.”
