The Packers doubled down on their Week 1 statement win with a 27-18 thumping of the Commanders. Defensive end Micah Parsons justified his record deal with two tackles, half a sack, and three QB hits. Packers fans soaked in the moment, chanting loudly with a pointed message for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. And it seemed Parsons wanted Jerry to hear it loud and clear.

During Amazon’s post-game coverage, Packers fans had a cheeky message. In unison, they chanted, “Thank you, Jerry”, a nod to the trade that sent Micah Parsons to Green Bay.
When a player leaves his team to join a new one, he usually requests the fans to not disrespect his former club. But Micah Parsons didn’t follow the script. As the chants grew louder, he gestured for the fans to raise their voices even more. And, well, they did.

Parsons’ actions reflect the recent public tension with the Cowboys owner, who questioned his fitness and loyalty, and claimed his agent made a harsh remark during contract talks, a claim later denied. Eventually, Jones had let Parsons go in a controversial move, and now the edge rusher is thriving in a Packers uniform.

With Green Bay off to a 2-0 start and Parsons dominating on defense, fans are more than happy to remind Jones of the gift he gave them.
They’ve got the best pass rusher in the league dominating week-in week-out. You can’t ignore the 26-year-old once he’s on the field. In less than three quarters, Parsons had already racked up six pressures according to PFF. He didn’t end there, either. He finished the game with eight, including one on the very last offensive snap for the Commanders.
But it wasn’t just Parsons. The Packers looked like a well-oiled machine.

Packers had an answer for everything tonight
Matt LaFleur isn’t talked about a lot, but he has made this team look like Super Bowl contenders in just two game weeks. Everything worked. That offense seemed like it was operating on an entirely different dimension compared to the Commanders.
Sure, it was a sluggish start, thanks in large part to Jayden Reed’s shoulder injury. But Green Bay’s offense finally got to work on the second drive. A 57-yard strike from Love to Kraft, who ripped free down the middle, set the tone. Moments later, Love hooked up with Romeo Doubs for a 5-yard touchdown to punch it in.
The pass rush got it right. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders had a rough night getting anything going, thanks mostly to the relentless Packers pass rush. Daniels was under fire all game, taking four sacks, and the offense didn’t even hit a first down until the second quarter. They couldn’t crack 100 total yards until the third. Their ground game, which racked up 220 yards in Week 1, was held to just 51 yards on 19 carries.

That’s dominance. It was their mentality as well. There were times when the Commanders pushed for a comeback, but the Packers didn’t budge. Every time the Commanders tried to claw back, the Packers shut it down. Washington’s first touchdown? Answered immediately, Love zipped an 8-yard strike to Kraft. Then Green Bay snatched the momentum, forcing a turnover on downs and cashing in with another McManus field goal.
Tilting narratives based on initial looks usually jinxes it, but the Packers are very much in contention to go all the way this season.
