Week 8’s most talked-about game is the Green Bay Packers vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers will be playing against his former mentee, QB Jordan Love. However, there are plenty of other players who are giving headaches to their management. It starts with DK Metcalf, the veteran receiver.

WR Scotty Miller is out with a finger injury and will not play. He had 1 catch for 9 yards this season and usually plays in the slot. Center Zach Frazier is questionable with a calf injury. Quarterback Will Howard is questionable with a right-hand injury but serves as backup to Aaron Rodgers. He surprised everyone by revealing that Aaron Rodgers is mentoring him with full attention. The rookie even praised the veteran Super Bowl winner for showing concern about him.

For the Packers’ offense, wide receiver Matthew Golden is questionable with a hip injury. He returned to limited practice on Friday and is a game-time decision. Golden has caught 18 passes for 249 yards on 23 targets, averaging 13.8 yards per reception, and he has not dropped a pass all season.

WR Christian Watson is also questionable with a knee injury. He is coming off a long ACL recovery and may see a limited snap count. Wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is out with a calf injury, missing his second straight game. He had 13 catches for 134 yards this season without a score. Other offensive players, including the offensive line and running backs, practiced fully by Friday.

RB Josh Jacobs also practiced in a limited capacity on Friday, October 24. However, the team is hoping he takes off at his regular pace against the Steelers.

DK Metcalf’s defense is also dealing with injuries

On the Steelers’ defense, linebacker Malik Harrison is questionable with a knee injury. Harrison has 2 tackles (1 solo) this season and helps anchor the linebacker unit. He will be evaluated before the game, and his availability affects linebacker rotation and run support.

For the Packers’ defense, DL Warren Brinson is questionable with a hamstring injury. He plays on the defensive line and has contributed 4 tackles (1 solo) so far this season. DL Devonte Wyatt is also questionable with a knee injury. Wyatt has 6 tackles (3 solo), 2 defended passes and 2 sacks and plays a key role on the interior line.

Another defensive lineman, Lukas Van Ness, is out with a foot injury. He has 1.5 sacks and 11 tackles (6 solo) this season and normally pressures the quarterback from the edge, so his absence reduces pass-rush depth. Kicker Brandon McManus is questionable with a right quadriceps injury, which could impact field goals and extra points. All other defensive starters, including Quay Walker, Rashan Gary, and Xavier McKinney, practiced fully and are expected to play.

The Packers will try to stay atop the NFC North division by getting the 5th win. On the other hand, the Steelers will also try to increase the gap between them and other teams in the AFC North division by getting their 5 victory.
