At 0-6, the New York Jets are searching for any kind of spark before their season fades completely. This Sunday, they’ll host the Carolina Panthers at MetLife Stadium, hoping for a comeback. Carolina, meanwhile, rolls in as slight road favorites, averaging 22.0 points per game. But before anyone makes bold predictions, there’s one big factor that could flip the script: the injury report.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

For Dave Canales’ Panthers, the injury report has 10 names, a handful of them crucial starters. First, OLB Patrick Jones II is ruled out with a back injury. Then there are five more marked as questionable.

Among them, four names stand out — C Austin Corbett (knee), WR Jalen Coker (quadriceps), OG Damien Lewis (chest), and DT Tershawn Wharton (toe). Corbett, Coker, and OT Taylor Moton managed full practices, while Wharton logged limited participation. Those four have become Dave Canales’ biggest headaches heading into Sunday.

OT Taylor Moton (elbow) also remains questionable after missing practice entirely. However, not everything in Carolina’s world is gloomy. RB Chuba Hubbard (calf), CB Jaycee Horn (shoulder), CB Akayleb Evans (hamstring), and TE Ja’Tavion Sanders (ankle) all turned in full participation. That’s a sigh of relief for Canales, who badly needs stability on both ends.

As for the Jets, their situation isn’t any brighter either. Aaron Glenn’s squad is also banged up, and the latest buzz suggests their WR1 might not even suit up.

Like Dave Canales, Glenn also has headaches

Aaron Glenn also has a long injury list. Six names. But one stands out above the rest: WR1 Garrett Wilson. The Jets’ top wideout won’t suit up in Week 7, and that’s a gut punch for an offense already gasping for firepower. Wilson is perhaps their only real spark through the air.

He’s racked up 395 receiving yards so far and has also led the Jets in receiving yards in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Without him, Aaron Glenn’s group will need to dig deep to find answers. The 25-year-old hyper-extended his knee in the dying seconds of last week’s brutal 13–11 loss to the Denver Broncos.

It was a double blow. Not only did Gang Green lose another close one, but they also lost their best offensive weapon for a crucial home game. And the problems don’t stop there.

CB Qwan’tez Stiggers (hip) and LB Cam Jones (hip) didn’t practice all week and are now listed as doubtful. Meanwhile, LB Ja’Markis Weston (groin) and CB Michael Carter II (concussion) did take full reps but still carry the questionable tag. Still, there’s at least one silver lining.

WR Josh Reynolds had full participation in practice and is set to step in as the de facto WR1. He’s got 8 catches for 72 yards in 4 games, but now, the spotlight’s on him. With Wilson sidelined, Reynolds has an opportunity to shine. But will he be able to do that? Only the Week 7 results will tell!
