The Carolina Panthers have shown their backing for a veteran CB. With the re-signing of Troy Hill into the roster, the Panthers have shown their faith in him. And it would have been tough not to do so after his impressive pick 6 last season.

Under the leadership of new head coach Dave Canales, the Panthers are hoping to build a formidable unit. But will they be able to find success despite not having a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft 2024? With Hill rejoining, the team might have some hopes, but the lack of a first-round pick can affect their season.

Troy Hill stays a Panther for one more year

According to reports, the 32-year-old CB has been re-signed by the Panthers, with only a few hours remaining before the free agency deadline. The former Los Angeles Rams’ CB was signed last season for a one-year deal but will now extend his stay!

Even though Hill started merely 3 games for the Panthers last season. He was an instrumental addition to the bench for the team. And he showed that immensely against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 of last season.

Against the Dolphins, Hill picked a wayward pass from the backup QB for the Dolphins and then ran solo for a 61-yard touchdown. He demonstrated that day that he still has grit and valor to perform at the biggest of stages. But how will the Panthers build a winning team around him?

The Carolina Panthers will miss out

The Panthers this season do not have a single pick in the round 1 of the Draft. Since, they traded their position in this year’s draft with the Chicago Bears, last year. The Panthers received the first pick overall and drafted the Heisman Trophy winner QB Bryce Young.

Young had trouble settling in at the Panthers last season. And the rookie will be looking for quality additions this season to support him. However, the lack of first-round picks will hurt the Panthers. And Young and the Panthers will have to do with what they have!
