Pat McAfee believes he is the same Aaron Rodgers whom the New York Jets signed last year! A swirling rumor of Rodgers’s interest in becoming a running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential ticket is continuing to surprise everyone, including McAfee.

It was reported that Kennedy approached A-Rod for his running mate, and later, the four-time MVP dropped a hint of his interest in politics on his social media by sharing Kennedy’s campaign video. However, nothing has been officially released yet. Meanwhile, McAfee does not believe the rumors, as he has a different take on what’s going around in the US.

In the latest episode of the Pat McAfee Show, the former NFL punter brought up the Aaron Rodgers topic to discuss what could be the potential scenario and ‘reality’ of the VP rumors, along with analyzing A-Rod’s mindset. Denying the reports, McAfee expressed, “I’m not 100% sure this is, from my perspective, from the things that I know that, this is anywhere near a reality.”

Reminiscing Rodgers’ last year’s Jets entry, McAfee later added that he believes Rodgers is currently focusing on his regular offseason routine, similar to what he usually does. Pat McAfee mentioned the excitement Rodgers showed about being back in the football environment, particularly with the Jets last year.

He recalled that Rodgers “was talking about how happy he was to be back in the building and loving football again and everything like that…..the whole thing like that feeling that he had, I think he is going to be searching for that feeling again with the New York Jets this season. And I think he’s going to be a guy who wants to do exactly why he wants to go to New York, which is to bring a winner there because if you bring a winner to the New York Jets…King….forever forever.”

McAfee also shared a message for the 40-year-old, saying “Hey listen, Aaron Rogers, friend of the program, friend of ours, this is how he feels he’s one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of football this is how he feels you’re learning that it’s journalism okay.” McAfee suggested that while there may have been discussions about this possibility, it’s unclear if Rodgers was fully informed or if it’s a realistic scenario.

However, he somewhat shut down all the rumors by addressing the fact that Rodgers is still into his Super Bowl aim, and not the field of politics. But what will be Rodgers’ take, especially after his Kennedy campaign endorsement post?

Politics or Football: What will Aaron Rodgers pick?

The current QB of the Jets, Aaron Rodgers, is being considered as a potential VP running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy is running as an independent candidate for the presidency. The NYT reported that Kennedy is thinking about Rodgers and former professional wrestler Jesse Ventura as his possible running mates. This is unusual for the Jets, as having their current quarterback involved in a presidential campaign while still playing in the league is unique. As per reports, Kennedy has approached several people for the role, but only Rodgers and Ventura seem to be seriously considered.

A-Rod, with his large social media following and fame, could bring star power to Kennedy’s campaign, hence he was approached. Additionally, Rodgers and Kennedy share similar views on various topics, including opposition to the Covid-19 vaccine. On the football side, the Jets have some experience with this kind of situation as their owner, Woody Johnson, previously joined Trump’s cabinet.
