It’s no secret that Patrick Mahomes is a golf aficionado. That’s why he has his own brand of golf gear, TaylorMade Golf. It would only make sense for the Kansas City Chiefs QB to be following what’s going on in the PGA Tour Masters. The 2024 masters took place at the Augusta National Golf Club and Scottie Scheffler came out on top.

To no one’s surprise, Mahomes was tuned in to the game and was happy when Scheffler won the tournament. He took to X and relayed a small message for the 2024 PGA Tour Masters winner. The post just came out a few hours ago and is already gaining traction on X.

After Scottie Scheffler won his second PGA Masters, Mahomes took to X and posted, “Scottie is so good 😂😂😂 #Masters2024.” Before this, Scheffler had made 4 other appearances at the Augusta. The golfer also won The Arnold Palmer Invitational last month. Though Scheffler seems like a dominant force in the golfing universe, there is something that can put a stop to him.

Scheffler and his wife Meredith are expecting a child soon. This will be his firstborn and he would skip one of the most important titles in the sport if his wife went into labor. He mentioned earlier that he would leave the tournament “at a moment’s notice” if his wife were to go in a critical condition.

“I think the first child wins … over many things in my life,” Scheffler told broadcasters. But that hasn’t happened yet. One thing to note about Scheffler, though, is that after The Arnold Palmer Invitational win, he became the first player to defend The Players Championship. Maybe these are some reasons why Mahomes thinks so highly of the golfer. The Chiefs QB has also participated in Capital One’s The Match, a golf tournament involving big-time celebs and athletes.

He competed last year in Capital One’s game with the likes of Travis Kelce, Josh Allen, and a lot of other eminent NFL personalities. A couple of snippets of him playing golf show that he’s actually pretty good at it. Last year, the Mahomes-Kelce duo played against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in Las Vegas.

Also, a special thing about this game was that, for the first time, Capital One’s games featured NFL QBs. Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady teamed up to go against Mahomes and Josh Allen as well.
