Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of KC Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes, is facing legal issues. He has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. The 53-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday night in Texas. He was released on a $10,000 surety bond Sunday.

This isn’t Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s first encounter with the law regarding driving while intoxicated. Records from Smith County reveal a previous arrest for a second DWI offense in 2018. Following a guilty plea, he served a 40-day jail sentence, completing it on weekends from February 2019 to February 2020.

The timing of this couldn’t be worse. Her daughter-in-law and son are hundreds of miles away. And it’s coming just a week ahead of the Super Bowl.
