While his son prepares for the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes Sr has been up to something else. Mahomes Jr wasn’t exactly having his best season this year. But somehow, he and the Chiefs managed to make it to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in six years. But ahead of Sin City’s big weekend, comes a turbulent news for the Mahomes family.

Patrick’s brother, Jackson was recently cleared of three felony charges. Now, Mahomes’ dad was reportedly arrested in Texas just a week before his son’s fourth Super Bowl appearance.

Pat Mahomes got booked for DWI for the third time or more!

Pat Mahomes has found himself in legal trouble once again. TMZ broke the news that the 53-year-old father of the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI), reportedly marking his third offense. TMZ was the first to report this. The arrest took place in Texas on Saturday night. Mahomes’ dad was being held at the Smith County Jail and his mugshot was also posted on the jail records portal.

The same jail records state that he was released on a $10,000 bond on Sunday. Unfortunately, this isn’t Patrick Mahomes Sr.’s time getting arrested for DWI. Records from Smith County indicate that he has been arrested for a total of six times for DWI – twice in 2012, twice in 2018, once in 2019, and now in 2024.

The Texas law states that the third DWI conviction is considered a third-degree felony. If convicted, the maximum prison sentence is 10 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
