In the moments of adversity, we see how strong someone’s values are. And Patrick Mahomes and his family have won hearts with their philanthropic ventures. His wife, Brittany Mahomes, was instrumental in bringing him to the board of directors of KC Current soccer club. Being a soccer player herself, she has often shown strong character in various situations.
We recently caught a glimpse of that when she shared several Instagram stories to help the LA Wildfire victims. She shared the details of several charity foundations through which anyone can donate to the people who have been displaced. It included the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation’s details as well. Not only Patrick Mahomes’ wife, even others are also joining in. SoFi Stadium, the home stadium of LA Chargers, is located in the area affected by the wildfires. They donated $200,000 in targeted funding to the American Red Cross, the LA Fire Department Foundation, Team Rubicon, and pet rescue organizations. They have also requested for a supply drive, urging fans to bring any food, medicines they can.
The league also expressed concern for the community. However, they are also planning well in advance about the games scheduled in LA, in case it takes time to control the fires. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has already selected the alternate venue for the wildcard playoff game between Rams and Vikings. It would be held at State Fram Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
While the NFL world’s attention is towards the raging fires, Patrick Mahomes is tending to his sick grandfather. His mother keeps sharing updates about his health. But the fans are worried.
