The Patriots did the unthinkable. Head coach Mike Vrabel showed confidence in his QB Drake Maye ever since coming to the franchise. Finally, it’s reaping profits for them. While their kicker Andrés Borregales scored the 53-yarder field goal to seal the victory, RB Rhamondre Stevenson gave many high and low moments to the fans.

“I’m happy for them. We challenge them all week,” the coach said during the post-game conference. He shed light on his players first, giving them credit for playing the hard way. But he quickly moved to the coaches and staff for working hard behind the scenes. Vrabel added, “Everybody has a job. And those jobs are critical, whether that’s the trainer, the equipment manager, the assistant coach, the offensive coordinator, our starters, our special teams players, or our backups. And I want to thank them for that. I like to see the look on their faces.”

That’s the fate of RB Rhamondre Stevenson. The coach still has confidence in his back. And he had the same sentiment when Stevenson recorded 2 fumbles. So, the RB could expect to start again for them. Yet his mistake might have cost them big time.

The biggest problem for Stevenson this season has been fumbles, and Sunday (October 5th) was no different. He lost the ball once again, marking his third fumble in as many games and the 10th since the start of 2024. His ball security has been a serious concern, even though this time it didn’t cost the team the game. Fans and analysts have been frustrated, and there are talks that the Patriots might rely more on TreVeyon Henderson and Antonio Gibson if Stevenson doesn’t fix this issue.

Rhamondre Stevenson had a game that swang too much for him. He logged 7 carries for just 14 yards, but left an impression by scoring two touchdowns. On top of that, he caught 2 passes for 13 yards, showing he can help in the passing game too.

His touchdowns helped the Patriots win, but he needs to work on his game. Otherwise, pretty soon, others might race past him.

Mike Vrabel praises Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs got the revenge he wanted on Sunday night. In his return to Buffalo, he led the Patriots with 10 catches for 146 yards in a 23–20 win over the Bills. That’s his best performance of 2025 season. Every time Drake Maye needed a big play, Diggs delivered, especially on the game-winning drive when his 12-yard grab started their momentum. For a receiver who was labeled a problem in Buffalo, this was the perfect answer.

“(Stefon) Diggs just came up big all night and was able to do some things after the catch, too, which was good,” Mike Vrabel said while praising his receiver after the game. Diggs made it clear this game was personal.

The Bills tried to paint their breakup with him as amicable, but the reality is that many questioned his attitude and impact. Against his old team, he showed he’s still one of the NFL’s most dangerous receivers, and that the Patriots can count on him in the biggest moments. Looking at his career, Diggs has always been that guy. He first broke out with the Vikings. Then came Buffalo, where he became Josh Allen’s top target, posting four straight 1,000-yard seasons with 150+ receptions and helping turn the Bills into contenders.

Now in New England, Diggs is proving he can do the same for Drake Maye. He’s not just chasing numbers, he’s chasing respect, and beating his old team in prime time was the loudest statement he could make.
