Comeback stories in the NFL hit harder than an offensive tackle in the last five minutes of the game. And we certainly love our comeback stories. And injuries can derail the career trajectory of even the most polished players. Just look at what happened with Derek Carr. The dude chose retirement over a 50-50 shot of being back at 100% after his shoulder injury. When a player is injured, more than the player itself, it’s the fans that get hit the hardest. Especially as they cannot comprehend the pain their favorite player is going through. But Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is changing that, with a comeback story for the ages.

It was the week 8 game, the Texans vs. the Colts, last season. Stefon Diggs caught two TD passes, and the Texans secured a 29-27 victory. But that victory came at a cost. A “non-contact injury” led to an ACL tear (ouch), and Diggs had to miss the rest of the season. His recovery road was tough, and he also became a free agent in the process. It looked less like a recovery journey and more like an edition of ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’. But now, he’s almost recovered and has a shiny new deal with the New England Patriots. And what’s more, he has decided to share his journey with the world, and the fans are already hyped up.

Stefon Diggs took to IG to share a reel with a major announcement. He has a new YouTube Channel, and his first video is a series of his journey from injury to recovery. In the reel, we see highlights from the episode, with Diggs’ voice in the backdrop guiding us through. I just knew it was bad. – my mental of it was like, man, I’m stronger than this. – I’m going to beat this just like I beat everything else.” And that’s exactly what he did. He didn’t let the injury get in his way for a second. He also addressed what a mental load an injury like this was for all athletes. “So then for athletes, it is mental. But at the same time, it’s so traumatic of an injury. – some people, like, don’t ever be the same or always think about the injury.” But that’s not how Diggs rolls.

Stefon further adds in the reel, “But like, me, I’m like, the worst has already happened. Like, I already tore myself.” He captioned the reel with a simple and strong statement, THE JOURNEY, a closer look at the past 6 months of my life. A real rollercoaster but here we are. Still pushing, still going.. God is the greatest 🙏🏾 First episode out now! Stay tuned..In the reel, Diggs also mentions where he gets his signature confidence. “I get my confidence from the work I put in.” And his work speaks for himself. Even with the injury shoving him to the sidelines, he had a good season. 47 receptions for 496 yards along with 3 TDs, with two of those coming in the Texans vs. Colts game where he was injured.

As we look forward to learning more about his recovery journey, even the first look shows his energy and determination. It’s no wonder he got a sweet three-year deal with the Patriots. And with that $63.5 million contract, the Patriots believe they have their starting WR at last. And if history is any proof, Stefon Diggs will be bringing the heat big time with the Patriots.

Stefon Diggs – Patriots’ missing piece?

Stefon Diggs will be all set to rumble in week 1 of the new season, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. As Diggs had once so notably said, if you’re doing what you’re supposed to, you’re committed to it, the ball will bounce your way eventually. You just never know when. That’s something I learned when I was younger. I told myself that when I did get the opportunity to go between the lines I wasn’t going to come off (the field), because I’m going to do my job, I’m going to be where I’m supposed to be and I’m going to make plays. This is not a guy who’s scared of getting injured again. This is a guy who means business. And is raring to prove that the four Pro Bowls were not the end of his legacy.

As Stefon Diggs joins QB Drake Maye’s offense, he might be exactly what the doctor ordered. As NFL Insider Tom Curran pointed out recently, nobody practices harder than he does, nobody is more cutthroat in terms of competition during games or in practice, and nobody is less reluctant than Stefon Diggs to say something if he doesn’t think performance is up to what it should be.Stefon brings his signature energy to the forefront of the team as WR1, fans are excited to see what kind of explosive and “cutthroat” plays they’ll get to see between Maye and Diggs.

And Diggs is excited to be working with Maye. He is curious to find out what kind of a person Maye is, what kind of plays he wants to make. His years of experience playing with different QBs are definitely going to give him the edge when working with Maye. As Stefon Diggs claimed once not too long ago, I’ve done a lot of inner work up to this point, I feel like I’m in a great space and I’m trying to put that into the universe. The universe is watching, Stefon. You do what you do best, and the fans will cheer you for everything you will bring to the Patriots’ table.
