The New England Patriots will enter week 7 in a prime position and will look to push their record to 5-2 as they face the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are reeling from the midweek firing of head coach Brian Callahan and would enter the gridiron to win the first game under their new head coach. But the one thing both teams will have to deal with is the injury report.

On Friday, the three Patriots’ players who were listed as questionable for the game against the Titans are wide receiver Stefon Diggs (chest), linebacker Harold Landry (ankle), cornerback Charles Woods (knee), and safety Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring).

One of the surprising listings among all these players was Stefon Diggs, who was healthy throughout the season, and it is still unknown when he suffered the chest injury. He also completed the Patriots’ last game against the New Orleans Saints. But his absence against the Titans will be a big blow as he is leading the team in receiving yards (387), receptions (32), and targets (37).

In the defensive room, the Patriots’ edge-rusher injury is still haunting the team and has carried over into Week 7 as well. Many players have missed games this season.

Starter K’Lavon Chaisson suffered a knee injury against the Miami Dolphins. He underwent surgery. And missed the Week 5 games against the Buffalo Bills. Top backups Anfernee Jennings also missed the week 6 New Orleans Saints game due to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Keion White missed the week 1 game due to illness and then missed the week 6 game against the Saints due to an elbow injury.

So, now Harold Landry is also expected to join the list of players from the defensive room who have missed any games. He suffered an ankle injury. But there’s a doubt surrounding him. Landry’s contributions to the Patriots’ defense have been exceptional. He currently leads the team with 25 pressures and 4.5 sacks. He also has 13 solo tackles to his name in the current season.

Titans have notable injuries as well

The plague of injuries isn’t just confined to the Patriots only. It has spread to the Titans as well. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the Week 6 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. Also, pass rusher Arden Key suffered a quad injury against the Arizona Cardinals. He missed the week 6 game against the Raiders.

Back in the 2024 NFL season, Ridley posted five catches for 73 receiving yards, and Key sacked Maye in the Titans’ overtime win. The unavailability of both players will be a big loss for the team, especially Ridley.

Without Ridley against the Titans, quarterback Cam Ward. And the team will be very confined offensively. The wide receiver workload on veteran Van Jefferson and rookie Elic Ayomanor is expected to increase. And Ward will have to come up with a different equation and strategy for his passing game.

Both teams have their fair share of injuries. The Titans will not have that upper edge in their offense and passing game. The Patriots have multiple players listed as questionable. Fans will be hoping their favorite team to overcome the injuries and defy all the odds.
