Pete Carroll‘s era with the Raiders has started on a high note. Every fan wants them to do well as the team has not won a postseason game in 20 years. And the chances of that happening are quite high this year. A lot can happen now that the team is under the mentoring of their new minority owner, Tom Brady. As a result, the team has the opportunity to trade for proven quarterbacks. And the most rumored one for which they can go is Russell Wilson. After all, Wilson and Carroll have previously played together. But didn’t they end on a bad note? Will it be a good idea to reunite them?
This doubt has been there for quite a while. If you recall, Carroll and Wilson were together on the Seattle Seahawks for nine years. They played as a HC-QB duo from 2012 to 2021, even winning a Super Bowl in between. But it ended on a rather horrible note. Wilson asked management to terminate Pete, and when they refused, he walked out. Reuniting back after this would be a poor idea, as indicated on ESPN’s YouTube channel.

There the reporter presented the possibility by stating, “Sometimes in a divorce you reconcile and maybe this is a reconciliation when both of them had to go on to not bigger and better things just separate things.” Domonique Foxworth was also on the panel, and he felt this was a fantastic idea. Russell Wilson has the potential to be Pete Carroll’s all-purpose player. The quarterback is capable of not just making good plays but also leading the club until a long-term solution is found.

While this was an excellent point, someone on the panel did not appreciate it. Bill Barnwell was the guy who later claimed that the team should opt for an NFL draft pick rather than a temporary solution. Russell Wilson hasn’t done anything extraordinary in recent months, yet the Steelers may already be in negotiations with him about returning for another season.

So it would be preferable if Pete Carroll went with a rookie at this time and built him up from there. If the reports are to be believed, the Raiders are already interested in one particular player. But who is this future NFL star?
Pete Carroll and the Raiders can target Dillon Gabriel in the 2025 NFL Draft
Rumors of the Raiders considering signing Dillon Gabriel have flooded the market. And with that, everyone is interested in seeing what Las Vegas is going to do. It was pretty clear that under Tom Brady, there will be several adjustments and probable new signings. Pete Carroll’s arrival is only the beginning for the team; Dillon Gabriel might be the next one. The 24-year-old has extensive experience and huge promise. With these tools and Carroll’s guidance, the man can execute pinpoint throws. Expectations are excessively high.

The rumor originated after Hondo Carpenter discussed it on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast. The reporter stated, “Dillon Gabriel, this guy intrigues me. One scout said he is 100 percent a Bill Parcells-type player with a ton of offensive experience. Bill Parcells used to talk about how much experience he wanted from a guy. He wants him to get it all out in college, this is Dillon Gabriel. Mr. Experience.”
What’s your perspective on:
Is reuniting Carroll and Wilson a recipe for success or disaster for the Raiders?
Have an interesting take?
Dillon Gabriel had an incredible season with the Oregon Ducks, and his NIL valuation has broken records. With a $1.9 million NIL valuation, he may be an excellent addition to the Raiders. Do you believe the team will target him? Or will they go with Russell Wilson?
