“Being a single mother of three kids… working two jobs was hard. It was something I prayed about constantly, asking God to be there and guide me.” This is what Randi Mahomes had to say when disclosing her challenges as a single parent. After her divorce from Pat Mahomes Sr. in 2006, the 52-year-old raised all three kids, Patrick Mahomes, Jackson, and Mia, while taking most of the parenting load all alone. Top that with long work hours, and yeah, she juggled a lot. And at times, she behaved like a loud, crazy mom.

On Tuesday, the matriarch of the Mahomes family, during a live Q&A on Instagram, was asked a question: “What is the best piece of advice for single moms?”

And her answer really touched her fans’ hearts. In the video, she was seen “doing laundry and reflecting,” as she said, “Hey guys, I know a lot of you are single parents, and as a single mom, I had to juggle a lot. But my suggestion is being present is the biggest, number one, cost-free—it’s zero to be present for your children. And just being present, you don’t have to be the loud, crazy mom that I used to be sometimes, screaming from the stands. You don’t have to be—some of the other moms might be decked out or something.” 

Besides this, the social media influencer narrowed down to raising kids with generosity and empathy. “Just being there, being there, letting your kids know that you love them and you support them. And I just think that’s a huge lesson that doesn’t cost anything. I just think that’s pretty special,” she concluded.

However, this was not the first time that Randi Mahomes’ strong confession as a single parent got the hype it deserved. Back in April, she attracted considerable limelight when she acknowledged reconsidering her parenting decisions. She further reflected on how difficult it was to come up with the right words your kid needed to hear in the moment. And fast forward to now, Randi revealed, “As a sports parent, you want to be involved in everything. You want to cheer the loudest, give the best advice. And make sure your child has every opportunity.”

“There was a time when Patrick came to me and said something that made me completely rethink how I was supporting him.
