The Rashee Rice debacle has taken a severe turn. The tragic accident left a couple driving a Lexus SUV severely injured. Though Rice called the car rental company and admitted that there had been a crash, he didn’t inform the company as to who was driving the car, per attorney Kyle Coker. Rice just admitted that there had been a crash and he needed to pay for the damages.

Dallas-based TV channel WFAA reported that the woman involved in the crash “had a very big laceration on her left eye.” The incident also resulted in several stitches on the injured eye “and the eye socket is completely swollen and black and blue,” as reported by the injured couple’s attorney Tennessee Walker.

As evident, the couple has hired an attorney Tennessee Walker, managing litigation partner with Patterson Law Group. Per the reports, the woman involved in the crash is still under observation and the doctors are waiting for the swelling to subside so that they can rule out the possibility of broken bones as the woman also suffered an ankle injury.

Their lawyer, Walker made a statement stating, “It doesn’t really matter who it was, it’s simply that the people who caused this compounded an already bad situation with their reckless driving by leaving the scene,” and added, “Just from a human decency angle, [stopping] is the right thing to do. It’s also the law.” The situation might result in Rice facing a potential court date with all the updates surrounding the case.

State Sen. Royce West, who is defending Rice after 6 car collision crash said that Rice is “cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”
